Bobby Simpson Files for 150th District Race

JEFFERSON CITY, MO -- Four-term Dent County Commissioner Bobby Simpson traveled to Jefferson City to file as a candidate for the November 8, 2005 special election to elect a new state representative from the 150th district. The special election was called to fill the seat vacated when Frank Barnitz was elected to the Missouri Senate earlier this year.

“This marks the official beginning of my campaign to represent the families, future and values of the 150th district,” said Simpson. “This is going to be a strong grassroots campaign to bring better jobs to our area, to ensure our neighbors have access to health care, and to improve our children’s education.”

Simpson’s campaign has the full support of Barnitz who called Simpson a “good friend” and said, “Bobby possesses the values that make rural Missouri great. I look forward to working with him to protect those values and to ensure the people of the 150th get their fair share.”

The 150th house district is composed of Dent County and parts of Crawford, Phelps and Reynolds counties.

A cattle farmer, Simpson has served as past president of the Dent County Farm Bureau, and as a member of the Green Forest R-II School Board. He is a member the Missouri Farm Bureau, Missouri Cattlemen Association, National Rifle Association, and the Dent County Extension Council.

Bobby and his wife Cathy of 25 years live with their two children in Salem.
