Great Candidate

I met her a few nights ago and she's tailor made for that District.  It's going to be a hell of a race.

Bogetto Accepts Nomination

KIRKWOOD, Mo., Aug. 6, 2005 -- Jane Bogetto, twice elected past member of the Kirkwood School Board, accepted the Democratic Party’s nomination today as its candidate in the Nov. 8th special election to fill the 94th House district seat vacated by the untimely death of Richard Byrd. Democratic committee men and women who met with Bogetto earlier in the day voted unanimously to endorse her as their candidate for the 94th District race.

“I proudly accept the Democratic Party’s nomination as its candidate for the 94th District,” Bogetto said. “I look forward to discussing the issues with the residents, particularly a fair funding formula for our public schools.”

Bogetto is a 21-year resident of Kirkwood, a community of more than 27,000 residents and approximately 20,000 registered voters. The district also includes parts of Des Peres and Sunset Hills.

Bogetto, 57,has been married to Peter Bogetto for almost 34 years. They are the parents of Katy (Greg) Stone of Indianapolis, Anne of Kirkwood, and Ben, a junior at Indiana University. They also are the grandparents of Jacob Stone, 10 months. Bogetto works part-time for the psychiatry department of the Washington University School of Medicine. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Bradley University.

Bogetto ran for the first of two terms on the Kirkwood R-7 School Board in 1999. She was the highest vote getter in field of five candidates for the non-partisan school board race in 2002. the board’s president in 2003-2004.

Immediately after her selection as the Democratic candidate today, Bogetto announced Peter Campbell as the treasurer of her “Friends of Bogetto” campaign fund. She will announce other members of her staff soon.

“I’m excited about going door-to-door in the 94th District to talk to voters about issues that are important to them,” Bogetto said. “I think voters will find that I’m a good listener and a hard worker who will provide them a common sense voice in Jefferson City.”
