"Ace" Cardetti Strikes Blow in Battle for Spokesman Superiority

Though he's been running rhetorical circles around his sorry competition for some time now, Jac Cardetti today produced a genius stroke which stands as another assertion of his utter dominance over GOP flack Paul Sloca.

At today's Legislative Black Caucus Scholarship Foundation annual golf tournament, Cardetti scored an elusive hole-in-one to help lead his squad to a respectable 7-under par showing. On the 158-yard par three 14th hole, Cardetti was the first on his team to play. After grooving his swing, Cardetti's ball flew dead for the flagstick, bouncing once two feet in front of the pin before hopping handily into the bottom of the cup. Cardetti hit seven-iron.

I think we can say with a high degree of certainty that Jac's Missouri Republican Party counterpart Paul Sloca did NOT score a hole-in-one today. More than likely, Sloca's major Thursday accomplishments included ghostwriting some Sandra Thomas for Auditor press releases and making it through lunch without spilling sausage gravy on his slacks.

Should Paul care to challenge the above characterizations, I'm sure that Jac would be more than happy to accommodate with a friendly nine hole skins match. Of course, we ought not be surprised if Paul bypasses that opportunity.

After all, the canuck Sloca may have limited exposure to the game since golf isn't as popular in his native Canada as it is here in the states. Paul would probably be more comfortable with a nice curling match, a game of pin-the-tap-on-the-sugar-maple, or a head-to-head contest of French-language crossword puzzling. But then again, a win in any of those enterprises would only serve to attest further to Sloca's rank inferiority in the eyes of most.

In any event, Congratulations to Cardetti on both counts. Keep on swingin' Jac.

Good Work Cardetti

I've heard from long time players in the tournament that in previous years, the 14th hole had a car ready to be driven away by anyone that made such an ace (maybe even a Cadillac). I guess Jack got the short end of that pin.

A collection has started to raise the money to get Jack the car he rightfully deserves. For interested contributors, send him a check at the Party headquarters.

Sloca is... French Canadian

I heard that Sloca is not only Canadian,... he is French Canadian.
