Submitted by todd on Thu, 01/24/2008 - 11:50am.One Term Blunt, is that what OTB stands for? Or is it On Time Budget? I forget. I have had a little problem with a memory disorder this past year. Can someone remind me?
Oh yeah, Bob Holden. I miss Bob Holden.

Submitted by todd on Tue, 02/20/2007 - 9:46pm.Leaders of Missouri ACORN, a community group which helped tens of thousands of African Americans and young people register to vote last year, urged elected officials to pay careful attention to the findings of a report issued by the Missouri Secretary of State today. The report, "Voters First: An Examination of the Midterm 2006 Election in Missouri," states that the "voters would benefit most from efforts to make the process of voting more transparent, efficient, and convenient, rather than costly measures designed to address alleged or unsubstantiated threats."

Submitted by todd on Thu, 03/31/2005 - 10:23pm.The faith community is responding strongly against Governor Blunt's proposed Medicaid Cuts. Missouri's Catholic Bishops issued a letter this week calling for the govenor and general assembly to reconsider their Medcaid cuts. One interesting point the Bishops made is that the "largest drop in abortion numbers since the 1972 Roe v. Wade decision occurred after the legislature expanded Medicaid coverage for pregnant women from 133% to 185% of the federal poverty level." Protecting Medicaid is a Pro-Life Issue.

Submitted by todd on Fri, 03/25/2005 - 9:12am."The case is full of great ironies. A large part of Terri's hospice costs are paid by Medicaid, a program that the administration and conservatives in Congress would sharply reduce. Some of her other expenses have been covered by the million-dollar proceeds of a malpractice suit - the kind of suit that President Bush has fought to scale back."
- NPR commentator Daniel Schorr. Congress met on Palm Sunday to pass a law, signed by Bush, to allow a federal judge to override the decisions of Florida courts to remove Terri Schiavo's feeding tube. The federal judge appointed to the case declined to intervene, though appeals by her parents' lawyers are forthcoming.
