Not Exactly Cool Under Pressure

You'd think Matt Blunt would be prepared to answer questions about the Eckersley scandal since it's been a top news story for more than two weeks, and particularly since the Associated Press ran a story on Saturday which proves Blunt has been lying about the existence of memos written by Scott Eckersley.

Yet Blunt was like a deer in the headlights today, able to do little more than stammer through reheated non-answers to questions about the scandal.  Things got so bad for Blunt as he wilted under the questioning of the KC Star's three-headed reporting team that his security detail actually stepped in, shoving reporters away from Blunt and then speeding the helpless governor away from the scene.
