Democrats Active in County

Cass County Democrats are active. The Cass County Central Democratic 
Committee (CCCDC) meets every fourth Thursday at 7 PM. The Democratic Women's Club 
meets every second Thursday at 12 noon. Both meetings are at the Pearl Street 
Grill in Harrisonville. Members in both groups are from several towns in Cass. 

Debbi Lehr and Cindy Kalwei maintain an email list and send reminders 
regarding meetings and special events. They also managed the Democratic headquarters 
in Harrisonville during the 2004 general election. Curtis Koons (Cass County 
Assessor) is the Committee Chair. Karen Meador (Cass County Administrator) is 
Chair of the Women's Club. Sharon Shores is the Co-Chair of both the Committee

The Fourth District Democratic Women's Club spring meeting and new officer 
installation was held in Peculiar April 23. Sandy Querry, a National 
Committeewoman from the Fifth District, was speaker. Karen Meador is the new
President of 
this group. 

We also have a new Democratic meetup group in Raymore. We usually meet every 
third Wednesday at 6:30 at the home of the Organizer, Dawn Elmore-Fricke, or 
the Co-Founder and Secretary, Rachel Hagelin. Find new info re meetings at

Then, since some of Cass County is in the Fifth Congressional District and in 
Greater Kansas City, some of us also support many activist KC groups such as 
Democracy for America (www.dfakc.org), Midwest Center for American Values 
(www.midwestvalues.org), America Coming Together (act4victory.org), ProVote , and 
many campaigns, etc. We try to maintain a cross reference to all major events 
in Greater KC on all the web sites and email reminders.

Here are some updates for your Cass County article in Fired Up Missouri.

The Cass County Central Democratic Committee now meets every fourth Thursday at the Galvez Restaurant on the Harrisonville square.

The new group mentioned as meeting in Raymore now meets monthly at the Mazuma Credit Union community room , 615 W Foxwood Dr. Their name is North Cass Progressives. Dawn is still the leader.

Fund Raising

The Cass County Central Democratic Committee is looking for Democrats!!  We know there are at least a few thousand of you but so far we have only found a few hundred.  We are having fund raising events to help find, promote, and elect candidates for the 2006 elections.  If you have not been involved and have either time or money, please contact the Central Democratic Committee by attending a meeting.  Check your local newspaper for date and times and locations.
