Submitted by .Sean on July 7, 2011 - 2:06pmToday in The Columbia Daily Tribune:
The most obnoxious thing about too many modern-day conservatives is their disdain for “liberals” as a general class. Rush Limbaugh flaunts the “L” word with all the distaste the “N” word used to convey.
A good example of this behavior was shown the other day by U.S. Rep. Todd Akin, who is running for the Republican nomination to face Sen. Claire McCaskill in November. He said on a national radio show, “At the heart of liberalism really is a hatred for God and a belief that government should replace God.” [...]
Akin & Co...miss no opportunity to tell us how Godly they are, implying the rest of us languish somewhere behind.
They are pompous and deny the secular foundation of our nation. A person who denies God might be a better American than one who parades around proclaiming his faith. Akin should apply for preacher, not senator.
