Glenn Beck

Brian Nieves Promises To Be Less Tolerant, Because Glenn Beck Says So

Senator Brian Nieves continues his campaign to restore dignity and honor to the Missouri State Senate.

Bye, Bye, Beck!

On this occasion, we also remember Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer's absurd statement that everything Glenn Beck spews "must be true because nobody's refuting it..."

and this spectacular advertisment from the Ed Martin for Congress campaign.

Who Knew? Bearden Actually Part of Progressive Conspiracy

Update:Ed Martin is in on the conspiracy too!

Former representative/lobbyist Carl Bearden may be working for Rex Sinquefield's United for Missouri organizations now, but did you know that he was recently part of a progressive conspiracy to destroy America ?   Glenn Beck says it's true.  And as our deep thinking Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer says, everything you hear from Beck "must be true because nobody's refuting it."

While listing off a series of progressive organizations that all have "pro-American sounding names" — including the Center for American Progress — Fox News host Glenn Beck claimed that the Koch-backed right-wing activist group Americans For Prosperity was part of the progressive conspiracy.

Real World Got You Down? Visit Glenn's!

I don't even know what to think about all this compilation of Glenn Beck's craziness from the past few weeks ago ... but I will say that I was completely unaware that the AFL-CIO was somehow tied to the ongoing violence in Egypt.   Maybe somebody should talk to Hugh McVey to see what's going on?

I do wonder, though, if we'll see ads like this from Ed Martin in the coming months. ...

...and I wonder if we'll see any more assertions from Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer that whatever Beck is saying ""must be true because nobody's refuting it?"

Glenn Beck Picks Up Story of FBI Visit to Billy Long Critic, But Turns Long Into a Democrat

Earlier todayGlenn Beck picked up the story of an FBI agent questioning conservative political activist Clay Bowler at the request of Rep. Billy Long's office.  But in order to make the story of "American citizens are being investigated for simply asking their congressmen questions," Beck had to turn Long into a Democrat.  After all, a Republican would never do what Billy Long did, right?   Listen:

GlennBeck.com has a partial transcript of Beck's comments about the matter.

Woo Hoo!

I was on the road yesterday and completely missed this: "the revolution" is on. I should call Blaine Luetkemeyer and Ed Martin to get the details.  It "must be true because nobody's refuting it."

#Yikes: Peter The Tweeter Outkrazies Beck and Malkin

I know it's unfair to expect Peter Kinder to be held accountable for things he tweeted 36 hours ago, but I'd be neglecting my duties if I failed to point out that #PeterTheTweeter's crass attempts to politicize the recent hostage crisis outside of Washington were too disgusting for.... Glenn Beck and Michelle Malkin.

Where Do They Get These Crazy Ideas?

Media Matters for America has an powerful video out this morning asking the question: "How did so many Republicans end up believing falsehoods about Obama?"  Drawing from the recent Harris poll showing that a majority of Republicans think Barack Obama is a socialist and a Muslim, and 45% of GOPers think that Obama was not born in the United States, the Media Matters crew connects the dots between these radical ideas and the radical personalities who spread them on the airways.  The focus of Media Matters' piece is on the media (shocking), but there are of course a disturbing number of Republican officials promoting this ideas to discredit the President as well.

ICYMI: Health Care Vote Also "An Affront to God"

We're now in the final phase of right-wing hysteria before the House vote on health care legislation. Accordingly, St. Louis Tea Party leader Bill Hennessy declares: "the American Experiment is over. It’s time to choose between freedom and tyranny." And Glenn Beck has called a prospective Sunday vote an "affront to God" planned by "a group of people that have so perverted our faith and our hope and our charity."

It's unclear if politicians' appearances on the Sunday talk shows are similarly offensive to Beck -- to say nothing of his holy cable network's decision not to suspend operations on Sundays.

As for me, I'm reminded of the old saying: "The better the day, the better the deed."

Just Another Crazy Weekend for the Missouri GOP

Former U.S. Sen. Jim Talent and Sen. Jim Lembke (R-Lemay) and Sen. Jane Cunningham (R-Chesterfield) are all chillin' this weekend at the Constitutional Coalition's Educational Policy Conference in St. Louis.  As you can see from the list over at The Beacon, Talent, Lembke and Cunningham will be joined by a formidable "Who's Who of Right-Wing Lunatics" at the St. Louis Frontenac Hilton.

The Trouble With Riding The Crazy Train

Politico:

Many top Republicans are growing worried that the party’s chances for reversing its electoral routs of 2006 and 2008 are being wounded by the flamboyant rhetoric and angry tone of conservative activists and media personalities, according to interviews with GOP officials and operatives.

Congressional leaders talk in private of being boxed in by commentators such as Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh— figures who are wildly popular with the conservative base but wildly controversial among other parts of the electorate, and who have proven records of making life miserable for senators and House members critical of their views or influence.
