Back In the Saddle: Jericho Renews Attacks On Blunt

Conservative radio personality  Vincent David Jericho started a new show yesterday, billed as "the internet's ONLY world wide talk show targeting Local, State, National and the World."  When we last heard from Jericho, his supporters were protesting his dismissal from KSGF radio, which Springfield sources said "definitely had to do with his constant barrage of attacks on Congressman Roy Blunt and Mavis Busiek."

Today, Jericho renewed his criticism of Blunt and the Missouri Republican Assembly, which endorsed Blunt this weekend for his allegedly steady "moral compass."

Jericho Supporters Gather In Springfield To Protest Firing and "Censorship"

Supporters of former KSGF radio personality Vincent David Jericho convened for a "support Vince rally/party" in Springfield yesterday to stand, pay tribute and raise a little money for Jericho.

Jericho has not publicly explained why he was fired from the radio station, but former KY3 reporter Dave Catanese stated in late December that his sources believed the dismissal "definitely had to do with his constant barrage of attacks on Congressman Roy Blunt and Mavis Busiek."

Jericho Asks Facebook Following: "Did Blunt Gun Me?"

Vincent David Jericho is asking his own questions about Springfield insiders' speculation that he no longer works for KSGF because of "his constant barrage of attacks on Congressman Roy Blunt and Mavis Busiek."

On his Facebook page, he writes: "Dave Cantanese saying Blunt had something to do with my firing. Go here and fast forward to 24:30. I did not want to believe this... Go listen. Am I naive. Did Blunt gun me?"

Catanese: Jericho's Departure Connected to "His Constant Barrage of Attacks" on Blunt & Busiek

As Dave Catanese first reported Monday, uber-conservative radio host David Vincent Jericho is no longer working as a radio host for KSGF in Springfield.

Speaking the next day in an online exit interview of sorts, Catanese shared more of what he's heard about Jericho's departure:

I talked to some political people yesterday, and they, you know, they're hinting that this definitely had to do with his constant barrage of attacks on Congressman Roy Blunt and Mavis Busiek, the 7th District [Congressional Republican Committee] Executive Director. They're not saying that Roy Blunt got somebody fired, but they're saying that there was a build up there and that had to do something with him leaving.

Now, we don't know if he left, or if he was fired, or how that went down -- that's why, you know, we'd like to hear from him about it to know more.

Details are still fuzzy, but it's interesting timing, at least.  I mean, he'd been there about five years, and was pretty controversial with a lot of the stuff he said, but he did have a following. So it it's going to be interesting to see where those people, his listeners, go and what they say about this and who they blame.

There's obviously a lot more to this story that needs to be flushed out.

Jericho Leaves KSGF, Team Blunt Rejoices

KY3's Dave Catanese reported last night that right-wing radio host Vincent David Jericho is no longer working for KSGF, based in Springfield.  Jericho, you may remember, made national news with RNC Chairman Michael Steele in August; Jericho accused Rep. Roy Blunt of infidelity and said former Governor Matt Blunt "betrayed every single Missourian that worked so hard to get him elected."

From Catanese's story about Jericho's departure from KSGF:

In August, Jericho, who had been on the air with KSGF for more than five years, made national news during an interview with Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele. Steele said he agreed with the often bombastic host on a point he was making about politicians "who can't behave themselves." "When stuff gets in the crapper, you got to clean it out," said Steele, leaving the impression to many that he was referring directly to Congressman Roy Blunt.

Jericho has also been a vociferous critic of Blunt and 7th District executive director Mavis Busiek. "If you don't kiss Mavis Busiek's ring, and if you aren't 800 years old, they don't let you in," Jericho said on his program during the Steele interview.

Listeners were 'left with the impression' that Jericho and Steele were talking about Blunt, because, you know, Jericho was talking about Blunt, and Steele agreed with him.

Michael Steele Flushes Roy Blunt Down "The Crapper"

Yesterday, conservative Springfield radio host Vincent David Jericho spoke with RNC Chairman Michael Steele. In their conversation, Jericho unleashed a litany of criticisms against Roy Blunt, Matt Blunt and other Washington Republicans.

"Guys like Papa Blunt make us sick to our stomach. They aren’t conservatives, and they sure don’t reflect moral absolute the way that we expect the Republican Party to stand up," Jericho said.

Steele responded: "I agree with you. And when stuff gets in the crapper, you gotta clean it out."
