Abigail Perlman Blunt's name floated for new show, "Real Housewives of DC"
Bravo announced last week that it will bring its “Real Housewives” program to Washington, DC and is working "to identify the city's alluring and discriminating residents ... women who have their pulse on the most important cultural events, political galas, gallery openings and fundraisers in Washington society."
Unsurprisingly, the DC cocktail scene has been abuzz about the new show, with Abigail Perlman Blunt's name suggested by many of her fellow partygoers (per AOL News' "Politics Daily"):
Cocktail party chatter in DC this weekend was really all about who will be and who should be cast in the newest franchise of the Bravo reality show, "Real Housewives."...
The names being mentioned most often around DC who should be in the final casting for the show are below...
Abigail Blunt: Wife of Rep. Roy Blunt (R-MO), who is running for Senate in 2010. A Kraft lobbyist, she is listed in The Hill as one of the Top 50 Corporate Lobbyists in DC, and is known for her fashionable wardrobe.
The "most mentioned" list, which includes Perlman Blunt and seven other women, was compiled by Emily Miller, a public affairs consultant in DC. Previously, she served as Tom DeLay's Communications Director and Deputy Press Secretary at the US Department of State for both Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice.
Interested persons may vote for the woman they like best below Miller's list of favorites.

Hot damn.
Abigail's chance to do her husband's senate campaign some good!--always assuming, of course, that seeing what a ritzy life she lives wouldn't turn off those elitist-hating rural voters.
Please excuse my playing grammar cop, for a moment, at Bravo's expense: "women who have their pulse on the most important cultural events ...." It's impossible to have one's pulse "on" anything. It is possible to have one's finger on the pulse. Bravo needs to think about the cliches it chooses before publishing them for all the world to read.
Hopefully it will be better than the NY version
We can hope that this will be better than the New York version of the show. The personalities were really lacking in appeal - at least for me.
I look forward to viewing the first few shows to see if they upped the standards since NY.
From the OC version, Bravo dropped the standards slightly when they went to Atlanta. Nothing wrong with the people or the city. For me, the story line fell short. Then with NY, there wasn't a story at all. (Keep in mind these are my opinions as a viewer.)
I guess we will just have to wait and see what the D.C. version brings to the plate.
I am curious - if Bravo wants to do a show named "Real Housewives" why don't they search for people who are real? Everyday women who are juggling kids, husbands, college and careers, who are trying to keep the bills paid while attending school events, etc, would be more interesting and afford more drama. Again, this is my opinion and no, I would not try out for such a show!
