The Courage, the Perceptiveness and the Far Sightedness of the Republican Plan – Revealed at Last!
Whoo - I'm still fannin' myself! The audacity, the boldness, the effrontery!
According to the Congressional Budget Office, the plan only covers 3 million, lowers costs marginally for some, and increases the deficit in the short term.
As posted on Prime Buzz, the CBO says the GOP provisions would cut the deficit by $68 billion over ten years, less than the Democratic bill, which cuts the deficit $104 billion over the same time frame.
The CBO also says the Republican plan would leave 52 million people uninsured in 2019, more than the 46 million uninsured today (the percentage of Americans without insurance, about 17 percent, would remain basically unchanged, CBO says.) CBO earlier said the Democrats' bill would leave about 18 million uninsured.
So, the plan doesn’t cover many, doesn’t really lower costs, and with no regulation, protects insurers’ abusive practices and massive profits. Ms. Belle thinks Congressman Blunt was right when he said a Republican plan would be too confusing. Ms. Belle is confused –this looks like the status quo to Ms. Belle, and she calls that right wing witlessness. Ms Belle is looking for a hoop skirt to go back in time, just like John Boehner and Roy Blunt.
