Cynthia Davis Calls It Quits...Sort Of

Mark Schlinkmann from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch has the scoop on former State Rep. Cythia Davis calling it quits as St Charles County Republican Chair:

Davis said Tuesday she has a new job as executive director of the Center for Marriage Policy, which she said was a public advocacy group for marriage.  She also plans to step up her public speaking appearances and is considering running for office again next year.

"Being honest with myself, I had to conclude that my true passion is to shape public policy rather than spending a large amount of time managing committee affairs," said Davis, who became chairwoman almost a year ago.

Also, it seems some of the other members of the committe weren't so thrilled with Davis' attention seeking ways anyway:

(Committee Member) Brazil said there was "major dissension" on the committee because of some of Davis' actions.

"She's a narcissist," said Brazil, of Defiance. "Everything's about her. The whole thing was set to help her, not the Republican Party itself."

To top it all off, Davis leaves the door open for yet another run for office. Because losing an ambulance district race is a perfect precusor to a Congressional race or state Senate campaign.
