DCCC launches campaign to spotlight House GOP hypocrisy on troop funding

The DCCC has posted a sample spot, and is expected to run the ads across the country in its "Independence Day Ad Campaign." The ads focus on House Republicans' choice to vote en masse against this year's war spending supplemental bill, after years of attacking Democrats' patriotism for doing the same thing.

John Vogel of the DCCC had this to say about the campaign:

Republicans never hesitated to criticize those who voted against the previous supplemental bills that included funding for the troops, but now that they are trying to score political points, Republicans' votes have conveniently changed. So this Independence Day, we are going district by district to hold these hypocritical Republicans accountable.

Roy Blunt, Blaine Luetkemeyer, Todd Akin, Sam Graves and Jo Ann Emerson all voted against HR2346 last week.

Sen. Kit Bond call the same legislation "a victory for our national defense and Missouri workers."
