Lies, Lies, and More Lies from Luetkemeyer

At what point does a stubborn refusal to stop spreading false information to the public signify a larger problem?

This morning, Blaine Luetkemeyer's office released a new statement opposing the proposed Congressional cap and trade legislation, using widely-debunked misrepresentations of an MIT study on the costs of said legislation.

Specifically, the legislation would add an additional tax burden on family budgets already stretched thin. A study by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology estimates a $3,128-per-household tax increase and an analysis by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association estimate that the monthly residential electricity bills in 25 states would increase 15 to 28 percent per household.

Much has been written about Republicans' misuse and distortions of the MIT study Luetkemeyer references, but that hasn't fazed Luetkemeyer or his lackeys.

His claim is demonstrably false, and he needs to stop.

Bonus question: If the central piece of evidence supporting your argument against climate change legislation is totally wrong, what does that say about the merits of your case?
