Discontent With Blunt Begets Another Challenger in GOP Senate Primary
The Missourian has the story this weekend of another challenge from the right in the contest for the U.S. Senate -- Robert Praprotnik, a veteran and businessman from St. Louis. As the paper notes, Praprotnik sells himself as a "Reagan conservative," and vows to reduce taxes and "re-establish the Constitution as the law of the Land."
From Praprotnik's website:
We are in a situation where the two parties, Democrats and Republicans, simply vote the party line and not the people want. I want to change that. It's time to vote out of office all of these incumbent politicians. We live in the Greatest Country in the world. Let us start acting that way.
I look forward to all TRUE Conservatives, Republican, Democrat, or Independent, and anyone else who believes in preserving our freedoms and re-building our economy unite and support my candidacy for the Senate of the United States for the Great State of Missouri.
Praprotnik, State Sen. Chuck Purgason and Kansas City businessman Mark Memoly are all trying to knock off Roy Blunt in the GOP primary for U.S. Senate.

speaking of awesome primary challengers
Check out John Wayne Tucker, running against Ed Martin in the 3rd district.
Ploy?
Is this someone running on behalf of Blunt to dilute the Purgeson vote?
I was thinking this too
There's nothing on his website that explains why he would think he has a shot, or offers something different than the other candidates.
Stalking Horse
I think the answer to your question is yes.
I have been working on a post about what I see as the republicans trying to stir up discontent to get the voters out to vote while offering the same old tired candidates or their political pawns.
Remember the Constitution Rally here in Poplar Bluff? A look at the people putting on the Constitution Rally and the official Butler County Republican Party facebook page shows the same people. In other words, the same tea baggers ANGRY over the republicans selling out once they get to Washington and the mainstream Republican Party are one and the same. The same old crowd has repackaged themselves as angry outsiders demanding change and by election time will be offering the same political insiders as candidates.
After getting republican and other voters angry over the politics as usual, lobbyist serving, secret deal cutting, self promoting, Washington insiders and after making demands to return to the Constitution and the Tenth Amendment, we will see the discontent vote split between Purgeson and Praprotnik. Blunt will get the nomination and Praprotnik and perhaps even Purgeson will then call on their supporters to vote for Blunt.
It is so predictable it is getting tiring.
