Washington Examiner scrubs reference to Roy Blunt affair from story on Mark Sanford affair
Yesterday, Fired Up! and KY3's The Notebook both flagged comments from Roy Blunt in a Washington Examiner article about Mark Sanford's current problems. Blunt, you may recall, said public scrutiny of infidelity "can be a distraction."
Since our post and the KY3 post went up, however, the Examiner has removed its reference to a Blunt affair from the article.
| Yesterday | Today |
| Rep. Roy Blunt, the former House Majority Leader who is now a GOP candidate for governor in Missouri, is no stranger to scandal, having gone through an affair, a public divorce and remarriage under the scrutiny of the press. (emphasis added) | Rep. Roy Blunt, the former House Majority Leader who is now a GOP candidate for governor in Missouri, is no stranger to scandal, having gone through a public divorce and remarriage under the scrutiny of the press. |
The words, "having gone through an affair," are now gone, but the article still incorrectly states that Blunt is a candidate for Governor.
