Fundraising for Private Company Now Part of LG Staff's Official Duties

Peter Kinder's office has a long history of blurring the lines between public, campaign and private pursuits. In his latest adventure, Kinder says he's wants unknown corporations or individuals finance his official lawsuit through a newly-created LLC. He's also decided to use his taxpayer-financed staff time to help with the fundraising.
- An April 7 press release on official letterhead calls on citizens to visit the private company's fundraising website.
- The domain for the HealthCareInaction.com fundraising website is registered to Kinder's Capitol office.
- Kinder's spokesperson is publicly asking for donations during working hours.
Am I the only one who finds this arrangement odd? Are public employees generally tasked with helping their boss raising thousands of dollars in private donations for private companies?
