GOP Candidate In HD1 Apologizes For HRCC Robocalls

UPDATE: The Star reports that the HRCC's calls in Northwest Missouri told voters they were coming from a Lee’s Summit hospital (!).

KHQA reports tonight that the House Republican Campaign Committee's offensive robocalls in House District 1 tell voters that they're coming from the "Adair County Ambulance District" (!), and the real  Adair County Ambulance District is warning citizens that "its number has been hijacked."

Democratic candidate Keri Cottrell, an elementary school teacher, told the station that GOP candidate Craig Redmon "called her to apologize," stating that he was not involved in their execution.

KHQA goes out of its way to state that the HRCC is not the same thing as the Missouri Republican Party, which is true.  The HRCC is chaired by House Majority Leader Steve Tilley, however, and is hardly an unknown entity.  As of its most recent filing, it's raised $2.8M to elect Republicans to the state House this cycle.
