There was an entertainer
By the name of Jericho
He talked a lot about his thoughts
While on the radio

Although there was much he said
About which I disagreed
He was correct about some things
That, even I, will concede

He liked to criticize
Those on the left and right
With those who were self-serving
He loved to pick a fight

You see even in the ancient days
A long long time ago
The Kings and Barons of the past
Had Jesters - like Jericho

The Jester spoke-up for the people
And here’s another thing
He spoke truth when others
Were too fearful of the king

Yes the Jester he was fearless
In pointing out right and wrong
His mocking was keen advice
And analysis was his song

The GOP elite won’t listen
They govern from top down
Anyone who critiques them
Is portrayed as a clown

Listen to your enemies
‘Cause they will say to you
What your friends will never say
Even if it’s true

But the GOP won't even listen
To a spokesman for their base
And any criticism
They are too weak to face

With ears they will not listen
No, not the G-O-P
And though they do have eyes
They refuse to see

Roy Blunt only wants to hear
What has been sugar-coated
But he will lose the next election
When Missourians have voted
