Updates from Jones', Davis' and Guernsey's fellow birther conspiracy wackos

We've been trying to nail down details about the July 1 birther events in St. Louis and Jefferson City, but are having trouble figuring out exactly when and where they will take place.

As we've been reporting, California lawyer and attorney Orly Taitz is leading an online and legal crusade to prove  Barack Obama is not an American citizen, and that he's illegally usurped the presidency to further his "radical communist, radical Muslim" agenda. Missouri State Reps. Tim Jones, Cynthia Davis and Casey Guernsey have signed on to one of Taitz's lawsuits, and Sen. Jim Lembke and Rep. Mike McGhee are announced guests of honor at Taitz's July 1 events.

I've emailed Orly Taitz and the St. Louis event organizer at the email addresses provided on Taitz's official website, and have yet to receive a response. Taitz was in Pennsylvania for much of last week defending herself in a defamation lawsuit, so that may explain the slow response.  I also put in a number of calls to the number provided for the St. Louis organizer, without success. (The one time I got a person answered my call, instead of the answering machine for DentalMissouri.com, the woman on the other end hung up before I could even finish introducing myself.)

To give you a sense for what the lawsuit is all about, and the alternate universe in which its supporters reside, check out this recent article from one of the plaintiffs in Taitz's lawsuit.  The author, a plaintiff alongside Jones, Davis and Guernsey, summed up the main points of the crusade on Taitz's website last week as follows:

Most of America KNOWS (beyond any reasonable doubt) that Barry Soetoro (aka Barack Hussein Obama) is not Constitutionally eligible to hold the office of President of the United States (POTUS) and Commander in Chief (CinC) (per Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution of the U.S.).

Most of America also KNOWS (beyond any reasonable doubt) that the members of Congress (all 535 of them), the Federal Courts, the Supreme Court, and ALL the Media (including FNC) are either ‘in the tank for’ or ‘paid off or intimidated by’ the illegitimate, criminal and Treasonous presumed President and Commander in Chief, Barry Soetoro (aka Barack Hussein Obama) and his coterie of thugs.

And Turner has even figured out that FOX News is part of the conspiracy:

Imagine the pressure on Mr. & Mrs. Soetoro (aka Obama) as they await that OMG moment when the truth that they have spent over $ a million dollars to hide suddenly exposes them for the Treasonous frauds they are.

* Fox News Channel’s TV news anchor Shepard Smith recently announced that he is apparently the defacto expert on Barack Obama’s citizenship when he said on-air on June 10, 2009:

“There are these crazies out there who want to pretend [Obama’s] not a citizen of the United States, who want to pretend that his religion is something they see as in some way troublesome to them and all of us. And there is a group perpetuating this thought, and there is a culture to which you can attach yourself very easily through the Internet. We know it’s absolutely – there is no truth whatsoever – zero – to any of those ideas, yet they live within the computer and they fester in people’s minds.”

These insulting and ignorant-of-the-facts statements, broadcast publicly to millions of viewers by Mr. Smith, will soon come back to haunt him, when he and FNC are subpoenaed into court to show proof of the source of these outrageous statements. This year’s July 4th Independence Day celebrations should have some unusual fireworks indeed.

I have no idea what "unusual fireworks" means, but it doesn't sound pleasant. It sounds downright frightening, in fact. Maybe Sen. Jim Lembke, Rep. Mike McGhee and the rest of the Birther Caucus can ask Dr. Taitz what this means when they meet up with her on Wednesday in St. Louis and Jefferson City.

It fills the heart with pride to know so many in our General Assembly stand shoulder-to-shoulder with these crackpots.
