Loudon Praises Alleged Criminal As "Hero"
Former state senate candidate and KTRS "political analyist" Gina Loudon blogged about her trip to the "Tea Party Leadership Conference" earlier this week, and had very kind words for Joe Basel. Basel is facing a felony charge for breaking into Sen. Mary Landrieu's (D-LA) office, was apparently out on bond when he rant into Loudon.
The weekend was filled with heroes, and none of them were politicians or party bosses. They were people like Joe Basel, who was arrested with James O’Keefe for his phone prank on Senator Mary Landrieu when she refused to speak with constituents who PAY for those phones, and the office she uses every day!
She continues:
Heroes like Andrew Breitbart (biggovernment.com, Breitbarttv.com, bighollywood.com, breitbart.com) who have revolutionized the media culture in this era...Heroes like Jon Burns (campusgulag.org) who created Campus Gulag to educate students about the lies of communism, and college eradication of free speech... Also, our own amazing top blogger Jim Hoft (gatewaypundit.firstthings.com), who I think more of each day that I know him....Personal, very special heroes to me like Bill Hennessy and Dana Loesch and my husband, John Loudon, who stood with me and led back when the MSM was audibly scoffing at us for trying to start something real.
Basel is one of four men facing charges for allegedly entering federal property under false pretenses for the purpose of committing a felony, a crime for which each could face a maximum term of 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000. NOLA.com:
When they were arrested, according to the federal complaint against them, Flanagan and Basel had entered Landrieu's office posing as telephone repairmen. O'Keefe was already in the office with a cellular phone in which he could record what was going on, and Dai was outside in a car. While in the office, according to the complaint, Basel and Flanagan "manipulated the phone system," and sought access to the telephone closet, but could not produce identification and were subsequently arrested. The complaint asserts that O'Keefe and Dai were in on the planning of the "operation."
Basel was also one of the activists who participated in the Washington University "gulag" last year.
Gina Loudon sure has a lot of stand-up folks as heroes.
