Newt Says Democrats Are Just Like Nazis, And Peter Thinks That's Groovy

Peter Kinder's public gesticulations are strikingly similar to those of Nazi Germans, no?

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is out trying to sell books and telling people that the team of Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid "represents as great a threat to America as Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union once did."  Pretty insane, right?  It was too much for Fox's Chris Wallace, who said Newt's comments have been "wildly over the top." It's even been too much for some Republican Members of Congress.

None of this is too much for a totally reasonable person like Lt. Governor Peter Kinder. Today, Kinder tweeted a link to Gingrich defending his remarks with Sean Hannity. Said Gingrich:

Here's my simple defense for that [comparing Obama and Congressional Democrats are "a threat to America as great as Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union"]. If the secular socialist machine wins, we are going to be in a country which no longer resembles America. We will have ended a 400-year experiment, as Lincoln put it, a government of the people, by the people and for the people.

And we'll replace it with government of the bureaucrats, by the special interests, for the politicians.

A former GOP Speaker says Democrats are "a threat to America as great as Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union," and refuses to back down.  Yet Kinder doesn't distance himself from the lunacy.  Instead, he ramps up his pro-Gingrich tweeting, and sends out a link -- tagged with his initials -- about "the consequences for America of the Left staying in power."  The consequences, again, are roughly equivalent to what happened when Hitler and Stalin governed their countries.

Totally nuts.

Just another day for the "mainstream" of the Missouri Republicans Party.
