Please Note: Kinder Office Now Operating on Restricted Summer Schedule
For all persons interested in conducting business with the Lieutenant Governor's office, please be advised that the LG staff will be busy with matters unrelated to official business until 11:30 am through July 26 of this month.
Through the end of the month, key staff will be occupied with the people's business live Tour de France coverage from 8:30 am - 11:30 am. A full schedule of race action is available at Versus.com, and should be helpful in planning your visits.
For those persons not expecting official staff to be conducting official business during work hours, and unable to watch sporting events on cable television on their own, the frequently-updated official Twitter feeds of Deputy Lt. Governor Jerry Dowell and Director of Communications Gary McElyea have you covered.
At the April 14 lobbyist-sponsored tea party in Jefferson City, Peter Kinder congratulated himself for how he "found ghost employees who barely showed up for work" and "laid off those ghost employees" in the Senate. Alas, those days of feigned outrage about government waste and inefficiencies appear to be gone.
Every Dollar Counts, indeed.

New twist on an old tactic
The leadership of the Roman Empire had no idea on how to stop the downward slide of their civilization. The result was “Bread and Circuses”, a strategy to provide food and entertainment to the masses in order to keep the people’s minds off of the lack of leadership and lack of ideas.
You Paid For It: More from our Deputy Lt. Governor
This is hilarious! RT @picturelg Wait. Michael Jackson is dead?
Kinder's staff now updating state on MJ Memorial
Deputy Lt. Governor of Missouri Jerry Dowell: "Brooke Shields, "what's with the glove?". Classic!!"
Your tax dollars at work....
Pedalin' Peter
At least Rep. Cynthia Davis is serious about her job of keeping hungry kids in their place. And thank heavens Rep. Ed Emery has joined forces with Orly Taitz to fend off uruspers to the presidency. Then there's, Rep. Jim Guest who is sheilding us from the Microwave Invaders--well, at least the people of Kansas.
Three cheers for these fleckless defenders of right, who keep up the good fight even in the summer heat when other lesser legislators would be doing normal things.
But what does our lieutenant governor do? Pedalin' Peter just keeps on pumping his French-style bike race, throwing dollars hither and yon. Frankly, I don't think Cynthia, Ed, and Jim should have to bear the burden alone while Peter is on holiday. He should at least send them a t-shirt.
