Ron Richard: The Most Powerful Man in Missouri

There's just so much awesome in the two-part series on Ron Richard from KODE (hat tip to The Turner Report) that it's hard to take it all in at once. The "Elected to Lead" profile (Part 1 and Part 2) includes some downright fascinating perspectives from the Speaker on how powerful he is, how much he likes power, and how he likes to use his power.

The videos are very informative. For instance, did you know that

• Ron Richard is "more powerful than governor or the president of the senate" (not that he cares about that)?
• Richard has a "very hands off approach" as Speaker?
• Richard has the "one of the most difficult jobs in the world"?
• Richard "likes that he has the final word" on things. That's why he's there.
• "Very few" people would want his job? (So many meetings!)
