Roy Blunt Asks For Money To Stop Washington Extremists

So, he needs money to stop himself? Here is an email I got from his campaign:

Dear Nate,

Our campaign is advancing well and thanks to friends like you our campaign clearly has the momentum. In the last year I've attended 260 events and traveled tens of thousands of miles across our state. I've listened to you and your neighbors about your concerns and the key issues facing our state and our country. The people of Missouri have responded, and a recent poll shows us ahead.

In addition, we had another great fundraising quarter with your help. In fact, we were the only campaign that received contributions last year from Missourians in all 114 counties and the City of St. Louis. Missourians are energized to stop the deficits, taxes and government takeovers that are being shoved down our throats by liberals in Washington.* In fact, Americans around the country, even in Massachusetts, are energized to stop this agenda and replace it with common sense solutions that won't increase taxes on your family and leave your children and grandchildren with a mountain of debt.

This is great news about our campaign successes, but we need to keep working as hard as possible over the next nine months. Extremist, liberal, Washington special interests have already spent about $1 million attacking me with false ads on TV and radio. This includes $750,000 from extreme environmentalists who attacked me for voting against the cap and tax bill which would destroy jobs and increase your energy bills by hundreds of dollars every year.** Now even more false attack ads are coming.

With Washington extremists coming to Missouri***, I need you to stand with me by making a contribution to help us fight back with the truth.

Together, we can win this fight and help ensure a better future for our families, our state and our country.

Thank you so much for your support.

Sincere regards,

Roy Blunt

Emphasis mine.

*I think Roy has confused the teabagging supporters of Chuck Purgason, his primary opponent, with the lib'rals. **Roy just called this Missouri veteran an "environmental extremist":

Also, as the candidate of the party that claims exclusive rights to Christianity, Roy should know the following verses from the Bible:

  • Leviticus 25:23-24. The land is mine and you are but aliens and my tenants. Throughout the country that you hold as a possession, you must provide for the redemption of the land.
  • Isaiah 24:4-6. The earth dries up and withers, the world languished and withers, the exalted of the earth languish. The earth lies under its inhabitants; for they have transgressed the laws, violated the statutes, and broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore a curse consumes the earth; its people must bear their guilt.
  • Jerimiah 2:7. I brought you into a fertile land to eat its fruit and rich produce. But you came and defiled my land and you made my inheritance detestable.

I'm pretty sure "drill, baby, drill" will bring about that curse from Isaiah. It's time to do our part and sacrifice for the wanton pollution of the last century.

***To stop "Washington extremists" from coming to Missouri, Roy should just stay in DC with his lobbyist buddies.
