Senate Republicans Throw Temper Tantrum For The Ages

Republicans in the U.S. Senate aren't happy with moves to remove controversial provisions in the health care reform package with majority votes, so they're using an arcane Senate rule to block afternoon hearings. 

Seriously. 

There's a rule that requires unanimous consent for hearings to be held after 2 p.m., and they've withheld consent.

Seriously.

Today, Sen. Claire McCaskill was forced to cancel an oversight hearing on police training contracts in Afghanistan because Republican Senators didn't want to meet after 2 p.m.

Seriously.
