This is Their Money Leader?? Republican Billy Long Plays on the World Poker Tour.....and he isn't very good either

Run Billy Run...TIm will kick your ass in August!

Repost from Bungalow Bills Conservative Wisdom:

According to Wikipedia, the average median income for the Missouri Seventh Congressional District is $32,929. That includes all ten counties that make up the Seventh.

Now there's been a lot of talk this year about sending an average citizen to Washington DC. With this talk comes the claim they understand Southwest Missouri and its people. I ask you to consider this.

On January 13 and on January 15, 2009, Republican congressional candidate Billy Long, a registered World Poker Tour professional, propped down $20,000 to play poker in a professional tournament at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi. That's nearly 66% percent of what the median household income for the Seventh District of Missouri. That's something to think about when Billy Long runs around the state claiming he is just one of us ready to go to Washington to represent us. I don't know too many people in this district which are that careless with their money. It makes you wonder how careful Billy Long will be with the taxpayers' money if he is allowed to go to Congress, despite all the earmarks talk and promises of fiscal responsibility.

You see, it appears to me, Billy Long isn't responsible with his own money. He gambles it away at casinos, buys into $10,000 games in professional poker tournaments, and then has the audacity to sit across from me at Pizza by the Stout and claim he lives a boring life, no partying--just dinner with the wife and family on occasion. I have a good feeling I am not the only person Billy Long has tried to sell himself with this description.

Personally, I don't have a problem with gambling. What I do have a problem with is this packaging of Billy Long that makes him out to be the average guy going to Washington DC ready to gamble at least 66% of the median income, if not more, of the average Southwest Missourian.

I also have a real concern in the fact that gambling may be an addictive behavior for Billy Long. Washington DC is not the city for weaknesses considering committees discuss national security and our troops. I guarantee you, our enemies who study American elections already know about Billy Long's gambling, and they could very well use this possible addiction to discover vital security information of the United States if he was actually voted into office.

These are real concerns of mine as I discovered Billy Long is a registered professional-level poker player ready to lay down $10,000 for a buy in at a moments notice. They are something Southwest Missouri should be concerned about as well.According to Wikipedia, the average median income for the Missouri Seventh Congressional District is $32,929.
