What's Not on Corporate Coalition's Wish List? A Higher Sales Tax and the Right to Work for Less

Here's an interesting tidbit from today's press conference of corporate interest groups in Jefferson City:  they listed six things they want to reduce consumer and worker protections so their members can make more money, but aren't supporting Rex Sinquefield's big sales tax hike proposal or any 'right to work' (for less) legislation.  From the Star's summary of their event:

Lobbyists and leaders for no less than nine business and industry trade groups appeared together in the Capitol this afternoon to unveil an agenda for the legislative session that begins tomorrow.

Collectively, they’re calling for legislation on six issues they say will ease burdens on businesses, make the state more competitive, create jobs and speed Missouri’s economic recovery....

Not among the recommendations are some of the more transformative measures proposed by lawmakers in recent weeks, including making Missouri a Right to Work state and replacing its income taxes with a broader and larger sales tax.
