What's really going on with the House Ethics Committee?

The information coming out about tomorrow morning's Ethics Committee Meeting is just odd.

  • Committee Chairman Steve Tilley says he can't talk about the meeting because of "confidentiality rules," but Speaker Ron Richard is happy to tell the press that they're discussing Rep. Rob Schaaf's equation of SCHIP with slavery. Are there actually confidentiality rules?  If so, is Richard violating them?
  • Why is Minority Leader Paul LeVota's "remonstrance" being treated like a complaint?  Ethics Committee don't require remonstrances to be treated like complaints.
  • Why isn't the remonstrance being referred to the rules committee, as required by House rules?
  • Why is the Speaker moving on the request now?
  • Why will tomorrow's meeting be closed to the public?

What will be hid from public view tomorrow morning?
