Blunt's Eckersley Scandal, Day Fourteen
The man who Matt Blunt and the Missouri GOP tried very hard to make us all believe was a terrible person with zero credibility has an awful lot of character witnesses. And a lot of them are Republicans.
Tony Messenger interviewed some of them for his Sunday column. An excerpt:
"I have always been a supporter of Gov. Blunt. I'm greatly
disappointed in the governor's staff and how they've handled the
situation."Harmison, a former president of the Springfield
school board, has known Eckersley since he was a law clerk at the firm
Lathrop and Gage. Harmison was a lawyer at the big firm and worked
closely with Eckersley. He praises Eckersley's integrity."Scott
is one of the most honest people I've met in my life," Harmison says.
"If he says he advised them on Sunshine Law, then he did."
Non-parties are defending Scott Eckersley's integrity, while it seems unlikely at this point that anyone is going to vouch for Matt Blunt's honesty who doesn't get paid to do so. Â
Remind me again who the terrible person with zero credibility is?Â
