I listened to Sarah Palin’s breathless Farewell Address set off by tweeting birds and cooing babies. I wish the speech had been set off by commas; I was exhausted by the pace.

What a slipshod affair it’s been between “Sparky” Sanford and his Argentine “soul mate.” This week the plot thickened in a chintzy Appalachian soap opera.

Bullied by Ed? The Incredible Disappearance of Post-Dispatch Reporting

It took the St. Louis Post-Dispatch only a handful of days to make the journey.

With its reporters apparently sitting on their hands, the P-D has gone from being (arguably) the first mainstream outlet to report on the Blunt administration's Scott Eckersley scandal to being an also ran in the reporting on that story.  While the Post-Dispatch did turn in a stellar editorial on the subject of Blunt's dastardly firing, their faucet of new reporting on the topic has run completely dry.

While Tony Messenger is beating his feet, writing Wednesday columns and culling enough interesting facts to keep even his blog vibrant, Post-Dispatch reporters have gone missing, turning up only in audio form in the background of the odd YouTube video

So what gives?

Given Ed Martin's now-proven proclivity for threatening those who provoke his ire, would anyone be surprised to learn that perhaps some P-D scribes have slowed their reporting as an attempt to limit verbal browbeatings from Crazy Eddie? Â

Keep on reporting, ladies and gentlemen.  No matter how many times Eddie threatens to sign you up for an AdultFriendFinder account or accuse you publicly of being a pipe-smoker or claim that your questions are a form of harassment and extortion, you have to hang in there.  The truth is the truth, and it's just starting to come out.  Don't get pushed off the trail by some loutish, lying bully.
