        Heck of a Job, Peter!

        Now, I don’t mean that in a Katrina kind of way. I watched the Tour of Missouri whiz along High Street and was truly blown away. You, our Lieutenant Governor, are to be commended for putting together this world-class event with our tax money. You have taken your humble and useless position as number two in state government and made yourself the unofficial Sports Czar of Missouri.

        Normally, one in your position does nothing more than learn patience while inquiring of the Governor’s health each day and presiding over an occasional session of the Senate. Some lite-governors have dabbled with helping old people, children and dogs, but not you. You've taken this position to a new level. I know it has not been easy having to deal with all those prima donnas in biking, what with carrying their cups, luggage and putting up with the teasing on this website, but you did it with grace and dignity.

         Though you have little chance of a political future, for reasons I’ll not go into, you do have a bright future in sports management (though you may have to figure out a way to pay for your projects without tax dollars). When Jay officially appoints Missouri’s first Sport’s Czar you can count on us at Fired Up! to give you our full support.

        Heck of a job, Peter.  And I mean that as sincerely as a Democrat can.
