In yet another, nose-thumbing, kiss-my-grits, Marie Antoinette moment, Anne Romney gave her opinion on the tax return coverup, "We've given all you people need to know" about the family's finances. She explained that Mitt gives ten percent to his church, which shows what kind of person he is.
What’s more, Mitt didn’t take a check while Governor of Massachusetts, she reminds us. Well, no Brownie points for that either, Mrs. Romney. How many meals did he and the family miss because of that terrible sacrifice?
A better judge of a candidate’s character is what he does under the spotlight of public scrutiny. Does he lie? Backpedal? Pontificate? Does he say “screw you people, I don’t need to reveal no stinkin’ tax returns?” Or does he come clean and do what is expected of those who seek the highest office in the land?
I think we are beginning to see the level of arrogance and entitlement that marks this family. When it comes to being a “public servant,” it appears that neither of them wants to be “public” or a “servant.”
Little by little the Romneys are being exposed for who they are and how they think. I’m counting on the rabble to do their job in November and topple these two latter-day aristocrats, whose values and views are so out of line with who we are as Americans.
