1st Annual - Union Picnic in Union, MO

You, your family and friends are invited to a union sponsored family picnic.  Meet labor friendly candidates and enjoy a day of solidarity for all union members and their families.  Food, refreshments, and live music will be provided.  Please bring lawn chairs.

26th Annual Truman Day Dinner

The Franklin County Democratic Central Committee will be hosting the twenty-sixth annual Truman Day Dinner on Saturday, April 29, 2006. This year the dinner will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 700 Clearfield Drive in Union, Missouri beginning with the social hour at 5:30 pm and dinner to follow at 6:30.  The Central Committee is proud to announce Missouri State Auditor, Claire McCaskill will be the keynote speaker and Duane Burghard, candidate for 9th U.S. Congressional District, will be the master of ceremonies for the evening.  Many other candidates, distinguished guests, and great Democrats will be in attendance.  For tickets please call Dan Kloepple 636-583-4548.

Wanted: A Few Good Dems!

Franklin County Democrats are looking to fill several county offices in the upcoming 2006 elections.  To name just a few of the offices:  Recorder of Deeds, County Collector, County Clerk, judge, and several State Representatives seats.  What we need are serious, dedicated individuals who are ready to work hard, make new friends, and be ready to work for the good people of Franklin County.  If you or someone you know has considered running for an elected office then come to our next Democrat Club meeting and we'll get the race started.  Franklin County is Fired Up and Ready to Work with our candidates.

Next Democrat Club Meeting is November 28th at 7:00pm in the Courthouse Annex Bld. in Union, MO.  This meeting will be followed by the Democratic Central Committee Meeting at 8:00pm.

Flea Market and Yard Sale

On September 17th from 8:00am until 2:00 pm the Franklin County Democrat Club will be participating in the City of Union Flea Market and Yard Sale.  Volunteers are needed to work the event and anyone having items to donate to the sale can bring them to the main park pavillion on East Locust Street in Union.  All profits will go to the Democrat club for upcoming events and to supporting Democrat candidates in winning future elections!

Special Democrat Meeting Sept. 12

Franklin County Democrats are holding a special meeting on Monday, September 12th in Judge Hoven's courtroom (Franklin County Courthouse Annex Bld.) at 7:00 pm.  This meeting is being called to discuss ways of getting more people involved in key leadership roles in Franklin County for the next election cycle.  Everyone including Central Committee members, Democrat Club members or anyone else wishing to participate is welcome.  Hope to see you there.

Pacific Car Cruise

The annual Pacific Car Cruise will be held on July 16 from 3:00 until 11:00 pm.  This event will be held in downtown Pacific and many of the street will be closed for the giant street event.  Numerous antique cars and trucks will be on display with thousands of people attending .  The My Voice Progressive Grassroots Democrats will be working hard selling roasted corn on the cob and a variety of drinks.  Please stop by this event for some good fun, yummy roasted corn and great conversation.  Volunteers to work the booth are still needed.

Franklin County Democratic Central Committee Meeting

The Franklin County Democratic Central Committee will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, June 27th at 8:00 pm.  As always the meeting will be held at the Franklin County Courthouse Annex Building in the Hon. Judge Williams' court room.  The Committee meets every fourth Monday at 8:00 pm.  Hope to see you there.

Reminder:  On Thursday, June 23 Meramec Community Fair Parade begins at 5:00pm.  St. Clair Fireworks June 25th from 3:00-10:00pm need workers at the food booth.

Successful Relay for Life Event

The My Voice Progressive Grassroots Democrats raised several hundred dollars for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in Washington, MO.  Several members walked the track along with cancer survivors and other participants from 6pm Friday to 9:00am Saturday.  Two major thunderstorms threatened to blow the Dems' food booth down but the strong wills of the group held on to the tent and the food.  Even though everything got wet twice (food, sleeping bags, clothing, pillows, volunteers) we survived and showed the good people of Franklin County Democrats care about finding a cure for cancer.  On a personal note I'm still wringing water out of my socks.  Good job My Voice volunteers!  Next event, let's pray for sunshine.
