Where:Â Â Â Meet at the Lakes Country Resource Center one block south of Chestnut Expressway; located on the corner of Scenic and College.
Who:   Democrats from Greene County and beyond. Member representatives from many progressive organizations have already committed and will be volunteering together for this universal effort.
What:   We will be breaking into teams. Some teams will target literature stands at grocery stores, box stores, gas stations, and other public venues. Some teams will be dropping the Greene County Democrat door-to-door.

I am SICK of lies from Candidtaes
I am SICK of candidates running around bad mouthing other candidates both in words and in print. If you can't run the race on the issues you shouldn't be running. What do you not have enough confidence in your own position that you have to run around lying about your opponents to make yourself look better?
When you resort to slandering other candidates, you should be ashamed of yourself.Â
ONE of Richard Napieralski''s lies: Richard, you keep running around saying verbally and in print that Dan Scott only claims to live in the district.
Well, YOU, Richard, have only lived here ten years and not even been gainfully employed all of those ten years.
Dan on the other hand was born, raised, educated and STILL lives, works and INVESTS in the 137th district.
YES, he not only DOES live in the district he opperates his businesses in the district. I sincerely hope you either stop lying about other candidates or that it causes you to lose votes by the mass!

Why has Dan Scott been representing City Council Zone 2 and is running for
office in the 137th Legislative District which encompasses City Council Zone
1?

East Springfield, where his posh house is located, but he is the
Secretary/Treasurer of this City Chartered Non-Profit Corporation.
He is still currently a member and officer of this organization. It is a six
year term. His term expires on 9/1/2007. That means that for the last 5
years, at least, Dan Scott has been living at 3564 E. Cherry.
Go check it out. You will probably find his Lexus parked there with his
personalized "Dano" license plates on it. Next time you see him ask why he's
driving the 'family mini-van' around Northwest Springfield while his cool
car sits in his garage on the East side.
Living a lie is hard. Have to 'give up' privilege and pretend to be like us

Truth and Issues
It's odd to me that you would spend so much time and energy defending Dan Scott, a Republican candidate, on a democrat website. I do run on the issues, healthcare, fair wages, education and to put people first.
I do think it wrong for the General Manager of City Utilities to engage in partisan politicting and will stand up and speak out about it. That Dan Scott would use you as his "attack dog" is the very thing you accuse me of, and of which I am not party to. If I've got something to say I'll say it myself.
Chris Fluharty's letter to the editor was his doing, not mine, and I can't say I've ever met jimjackson, either. (But thanks for sticking up for me, jim.)Â

Why won't you answer us?
We have posted a simple list of questions. None of the Democrat candidates will answer us, you included. Why? We are a small group but will be very active supporters as soon as we choose who to support. We can't do that when none of you will respond to us with answers to our questions. There are several less than positive posts on here about you, Mr. Napieralski. We aren't sure if that means you are bad or not. Why won't anyone answer our questions. We fairly asked them of all the candidates and none of you seems to care enough about our votes or our support to answer us.

Which of the candidates have good work histories? Which of the candidates are ethical and moral?

I'm sorry to see that you consider a candidates stand on abortion important. To me this is not a "voteable" issue. It has nothing to do with my government. Government should stay out of personal lives and personal choices.

I see that question about whether this candidate has a job or not has gone unanswered. We have read posts on this man's blogspot. Seems he is doing the same thing to another candidate and it is okay. Does this candidate have a job or not? We have gotten emails griping because we asked for answers and we have gotten no answers. What do we, the Democratic voters, need to do to find out where our own candiidates stand on the things that matter to us? We posted the same questions on a Republican forum and have had polite responses to all of our questions even though we were Democrats posting. But our own fellow Democrats either won't answer our questiuons or send snotty emails instead. We are very disappointed none of the Democrats will answer us. We do represent a nice handful or votes. I guess the Democratic party doesn't care about our votes. No wonder the Republicans out number us in the house and senate. Please can we get answers from our Democratic candidates?

Put People First Campaign
Richard Napieralski For 137th District State Representative
John Twitty, General Manager of City Utilities, is using his position to build a political dynasty in Springfield. The head of this public utility is actively supporting various political adventures, including my opponent Republican Dan Scott in the 137th District race.Â
Twitty hosted a fundraising event for Scott, allowing Scott to use his name to encourage out of town developers to donate to his campaign. The event included a tour of the former Marquette Hotel, renamed “400 Place,†where Scott claims to reside in his swank penthouse apartment.
Twitty is also in de facto control of our local Chamber of Commerce through membership dues and heavy donations amounting to over one million dollars over the past four years.  City Utilities spends in excess of one quarter million dollars a year on the Chamber—City Utilities rate payer’s dollars going to build Twitty’s political machine.
In 2004, voters in the 137th District overwhelmingly voted against the coal fired plant, 63% against, 37% for. The people of the 137th District and Springfield clearly said “NO,†yet Twitty and his political puppets like Scott turn a deaf ear.
Instead, they scheduled an election in June costing City Utilities rate payers thousands of dollars for this single bond issue.
Worse, proponents like Scott and Twitty are using fear-mongering tactics to stampede voters.Â
This “Growth At All Costs†political coalition is now in firm control of our city government, our utilities company, the local chamber of commerce, and Twitty has even suborned some local labor unions with the promise of a few jobs.
Twitty is over the line in this level of political engagement. The City Charter, Section 6.11 says:
No appointive salaried officer of employee of the city shall solicit any monetary contributions to the campaign funds of any candidate for office or to the campaign funds of any political organization when such funds are to be used to support candidates directly or indirectly. No appointive salaried officer or employee of the city shall use his official title or job designation in the form of any political activity calculated to favor or improve the chances of any political candidate or any person seeking or attempting to hold political office.

currently represents City Council Zone 2 on the Springfield Missouri Public
Building Corporation Board. (Read the chart.) Not only does he represent
East Springfield, where his posh house is located, but he is the
Secretary/Treasurer of this City Chartered Non-Profit Corporation.
He is still currently a member and officer of this organization. It is a six
year term. His term expires on 9/1/2007. That means that for the last 5
years, at least, Dan Scott has been living at 3564 E. Cherry.
Go check it out. You will probably find his Lexus parked there with his
personalized "Dano" license plates on it. Next time you see him ask why he's
driving the 'family mini-van' around Northwest Springfield while his cool
car sits in his garage on the East side.
Living a lie is hard. Have to 'give up' privilege and pretend to be like us
is tough.

CU and the Coal fired power plant
Richard, be sure to look at the article in the Springfield News Leader today about the lack of coal supply to coal fired power plants. Seems as though some of the coal fired plants are operating on a hodge podge basis due to the fact they can't get consistent deliveries of coal. I know this is preaching to the choir, this is the same dumb CU that can't keep 3 or 4 water pumps running in Stockton Lake to supply water, but wouldn't it be funny when they get this dinosaur built they can operate it for a few days off and on due to lack of coal. This shipment of coal out of the Power River Basin has been strained for sometime, not due to lack of coal but due to lack of rail lines. You remember the railroads have been closing and abandoning rail lines for years, NOT building rail lines. Remember folks, thats how we got the KATY trail and the FRISCO Highline trail North out of Springfield. So to the folks in Springfield that swallowed the CU hot air hook line and sinker, I hope you get what you thought you voted for. In case you don't, just do like you did when the pumps quit work, let CU get by with it, afterall they are just volunteers.....yeah right.

Granted, I know little about natural gas, but isn't this what they plan to use? Anyway, I'd been thinking about the fact that as far as I know, Missouri doesn't really have coal in the vicinity, knew it would be expensive to bring coal in by rail and knew the coal fired plant made no sense, so I've just been watching and waiting. And wasn't the News-leader pushing for the passage of the coal fired plant as well? Looks like they didn't research the subject nearly well enough. ...Maybe even not at all... You should visit the other candidate websites too if you really want to know the candidates and what the truths about them are. Find the websites of the other candidates and visit them. Do you know about the candidates and what they believe? We have been trying to find out which one we want to support.
