Hancock: "Look over there! Now over there! Look anywhere but at the Governor."
Perhaps someone can explain to me why on god's green earth it should matter one iota who the attorneys are that Scott Eckersley hired after he got run out of the governor's office for blowing the whistle on the Blunt administration's blatant lawbreaking?
John Hancock, spinning so hard he's likely to induce China syndrome, is squawking on his Blunt-funded blog about how Eckersley's hire of attorneys Steve Garner and Chip Robertson means that his claims are facially invalid --the product of some magic Nixon-driven conspiracy scheme.
Hancock's contention would seem to be that Jay Nixon, Steve Garner and Chip Robertson got together over steaks and put a whammy hex on Ed Martin and Matt Blunt that caused them to fire Scott Eckersley in violation of the law, then ran to him and signed him up as a client. These are the imaginings of a hack so blind with partisanship and so unwilling to face facts that he confuses the odor of his own goose being cooked with the smell of victory.
Here's the bottom line: Eckersley could have hired uberliberals Ralph Nader or Larry Tribe to
represent him and that would have precisely zero probative value
regarding any of the events that took place beforehand and for which
Eckersley is now pursuing justice. Any bogus garbage about who Eckersley's attorneys are exists only as a distraction from the real focus --that Matt Blunt fired a man who stood up to his characterless superiors when they dismissed his repeated warnings that they had knowingly run afoul of the law.
In the end, that's what matters. Everything else is just window dressing.

Southeast Missouri Politics are now statewide
Where I live in Southeast Missouri, we are very familiar with the Machine's method of firing the competent and innocent for trying to do what is right and stop corrutpion. The next step for the Machine is to destroy the competent innocent person's reputation. Finally, the incompetent but corrupt are brought in to help cover up corruption. For examples of the Machine in action, please look at Three Rivers Community College and the Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce.
