Kraske To Blunt: Happy Birthday, Mr. Governor

Not since Marilyn Monroe sang Happy Birthday to President John F. Kennedy have we seen such fawning over a public official for their birthday as we do in this profile of Governor Matt Blunt by Kansas City Star reporter, Steve Kraske.

Who knew that Kraske had such a man crush on the Governor?

MATT BLUNT'S STUDLY ALE

Who knew our Governor was such a ladies man?  How could any voter, or for that matter woman, resist such tempting pick up lines!  Surely this cheesy pick up line will lock up the soccer mom voter for our guy Matt.

From the KC STAR

Blunt pitched a line at her — something about how he and his buddy wanted to make their own brew and call it “Studly Ale.”

This sure makes me proud to be a Missourian!....STUDLY???

If he were a REAL Ladies' Man...

...he'd know he was supposed to be using Courvoisier...and hey, come to think of it...what's a nice Southern Baptist boy doing with ale, anyway?

GOVERNOR STUDLY!

STUDLY ALE FOR SALE!!!

Maybe he should have been a brewmaster rather than a governor?

Love Affair... I don't see it

I now am questioning whether I read the same article . I did not read any glowing comments or opinions on Blunt, just a bio. I consider myself an intelligent female so of course I am a Democrat. The article did not make me think any more but maybe a little less of the man.  Studly ale was geeky.... and the idea he can sleep at night, when so many of the people who elected him are lying awake worrying about paying their bills, but I don't get the anger towards the reporter. What did I miss?

Steve,

I had no idea you had a love affair going with Matt Blunt. My god! You have gotten any closer to him without getting in bed! I sure don't remember a love fest when Holden was being attacked by the Republicans.

And the nice little 'dating profile' above the inside story was a laugh - His favorite food is cheeseburgers! My God! This Governor's approval ratings are at 33% - he's cut hundreds of elderly, disabled and poor kids off any kind of social safety net - and you are doing a story on his height, weight and that he likes the Simpsons.

His quote "I sleep well at night" - should tell all Missourians exactly what kind of Governor we have. Because if they wait for the Star or a reporter to do their due diligence - well, it probably won't happen. You just sank to a new low in my mind, Mr. Kraske. Peace in Truth

He Sleeps Well at Night...

...'Cuz those who sleep the blissful sleep of IGNORANCE often do!  Zzzzzzzzzz...snorrrrrk.....zzzzmph.....

Was this Kraske's job interview?

It's no secret that Steve Kraske has been shopping for a while now for a new job. He wants to get out of the media and into a high paying public affairs job. This pitiful story makes me think he is angling for a job with the Blunt administration. Watch your back Spence.

Who knows. Maybe he'll get a fee office out of the deal.

My favorite quote in the story:

"....keep the commitments you made to Missourians and move forward," Blunt said.

Knowing all the times Blunt has lied to Missourians, how can a reporter for a major newspaper print that quote without challenging the governor on it? Maybe Kraske needs to hang up his notepad.

STEVE KRASKE

I don't know Mr. Kraske, but I do read his articles.  After this one, I probably won't.  This was really a crock.  I can only think he wants something really, really bad from the "boy guv," or the man is sufferering a mid-life crises.  Either way, he's lost a whole lot of the credibility he built up over the years.  Gracie
