Yet despite the widely acknowledged weakness of the GOP primary candidates, there aren't very many Republican lifers out there lamenting Matt Blunt's decision not to run for re-election. Strange, that. No?

Bet he's feeling pretty stupid for letting Kit Bond muscle him out. Hey, now that I think about it, his dropping out was pretty odd at the time. Perhaps its because he was worried that something about him or his staff was going to come out in a nasty primary like this one is shaping up to be.
