I listened to Sarah Palin’s breathless Farewell Address set off by tweeting birds and cooing babies. I wish the speech had been set off by commas; I was exhausted by the pace.

What a slipshod affair it’s been between “Sparky” Sanford and his Argentine “soul mate.” This week the plot thickened in a chintzy Appalachian soap opera.

Bay Area Poised to Exploit Bartle's Plan

Check out this story from the San Francisco Business Times:

Proposed legislation to criminalize embryonic stem cell research in Missouri is threatening to send a huge biomedical project in search of a more welcoming environment -- a situation being closely watched by economic development and biotech officials here.

Once again I ask, where's the leadership from the Governor?

Blunt's Failure to Lead

Here's another example of the difference between a real leader and Governor Blunt.

We need an initiative

As the article points out, even if the stem cell ban fails this year, the issue will still be a dark cloud over the state for years to come.  We need an initiative petittion to put something on the ballot that explicit legalizes stem cell research and maybe even issues some bonds to support research.  Kansas issued research bonds last year and has already been successful at attracting many biotech startups that might have landed on the Missouri side of the KC region.

We need to take the offensive on this issue instead of scrambling on defense year after year.  Besides the stem cell issue, Democrats need to take out Bartle.  Either by finding a viable Dem to run against him, or supporting a moderate Republican to take him out.

Gov Blunt cuts Alzheimer's reach........that's his answer
