Akin Votes Against 9/11 First Responder Bill

Kit Bond and his fellow Senate Republicans finally relented on their filibuster yesterday, and a modified bill to help 9/11 first responders passed the Senate by a voice vote.

When the legislation passed the House by a 206-60 vote last night, Rep. Todd Akin was the only member of the Missouri delegation to vote against it.

As summarized by TPM, "The legislation would provide first responders with five years of health care coverage and give them fresh access to a compensation fund for people who became ill because of exposure to harmful inhalants at ground zero."

Unreal.
