Steelman Outs Blunt on Borrow and Spend Approach; Steelman in '08?
Sarah Steelman is continuing her cold war against Matt Blunt.
In a news release earlier today, Steelman outed Blunt on his substantial borrowing from state reserve funds to pay basic state bills.
The Associated Press quickly pounced on the malicious disclosure and moved a story with the headline, "Cash flow trouble causes state to tap reserves".Â
Like others before it, this episode highlights the growing possibility that Steelman will challenge Blunt for the 2008 GOP gubernatorial nomination.

A SIGN OF THINGS TO COME
Dipping in to the reserves this early should be VERY concerning to all Missourians, especially those who have already taken a hit in the budget, or were on the list for potential losses.  It sounds like there will be more budget reductions to come. The poor financial management and allegiance to special interest Governor Blunt has shown is just begining to truly be felt.  Â
Unfortunately this is a sign that things are only going to get worse. Missouri needs new leadership.
