I listened to Sarah Palin’s breathless Farewell Address set off by tweeting birds and cooing babies. I wish the speech had been set off by commas; I was exhausted by the pace.

What a slipshod affair it’s been between “Sparky” Sanford and his Argentine “soul mate.” This week the plot thickened in a chintzy Appalachian soap opera.

Hey Roy, Those Must Be Some Fine Golf Gloves

Bloomberg has an interesting story about some of the golf outings that various members of congress take part in.

Buried deep within the story is this interesting little tidbit about Missouri's own Roy Blunt (R-K Street):

The FEC reports offer some clues into how lawmakers use their campaign funds. Alaska Republican Representative Don Young disclosed a $3,896 payment for ``golf tees'' this year; Missouri Representative Roy Blunt, the House's third-ranking Republican, reported spending $1,764 on golf gloves in May 2004.

If their campaign contributions have to subsidize that sort of lavish lifestyle, no wonder those K Street lobbyists have to charge $50,000 for one month's worth of work.

THE BIGGEST CHINK IN ROY BLUNTS ARMOR...HIMSELF AND HIS SON!

My guess is that the vast majority of Roy Blunt's constituents would not appreciate the fact that Roy, (R-K street) and his colleague have spent $5,650 on minor golf accessories.

For some reason, my guess is a lot of Roy's constituents could have used that money to help cover the increase in medical bills, utility rates, and insurance premiums his Son, the Gov. raised on them.

Let's discover the fact that Roy Blunt's record is WEAK, and his SON IS A MAJOR DRAG ON HIM. Let's keep him busy the next election cycle
