Lawyer Jack Goodman, related by marriage to Matt Blunt, is named a member of the Blunt’s Axe Gang.
“The St. Louis Post-Dispatch recounted a remarkable act of hypocrisy performed by Governor Matt Blunt's allies in the House of Representatives. These lawmakers had no qualms when it came to axing health care for nearly 100,000 Missouri citizens - working parents, the elderly, and the disabled - or kicking 24,000 children off the rolls by pushing higher premiums onto their parents or guardians. However, this same gang of officials spared the axe when it came to their own publicly-financed health care.
Lawyers, executives, engineers and entrepreneurs in Missouri's Legislature wanted no part of measures that would have cut their own taxpayer-subsidized health insurance. The House voted down a proposal to increase lawmakers' monthly insurance premiums by $115. A similar proposal was dead on arrival in the Senate. Do they see anything unfair about this? Apparently not.”
So far, his campaign has raised $121,000 (MEC 8 day before election report). Nearly all this money was raised from business interests such as lawyers, insurance companies and health care PACs.

Praising the efforts of area lawmakers present, Blunt commented on what he said has been “a very successful legislative session (Neosho Daily News).”

Issue Bogus Press Release
When does a political campaign cross the line from lively debate to slander and libel? Last week the Missouri Republican Party, and Barry County Advertiser crossed the line when they accused Democratic State Senate Candidate Nolan McNeill of running “false and misleading” TV ads. Their press release states: “When asked to document the accuracy of the ad, they were unable, forcing removal of the spot.” Sorry, but if someone at the MRP or Advertiser had spent thirty seconds picking up a phone to call McNeill’s campaign office, they would have been provided with 20 some pages of documentation verifying the accuracy of the ads, all of which have been running as scheduled on KOLR 10, KSFX 27, and other local stations. This kind of politics is really beyond the pale. It is not even debatable that the MRP’s press release is completely false. Since nobody at the MRP or Advertiser ever contacted McNeill’s office to obtain documentation that the campaign ads are, in fact, absolutely true, it is clear that the intent of this press release was to smear McNeill’s good name and manipulate the outcome of this election. This does not excuse the Advertiser either. Like all newspapers, the Advertiser is responsible for fact checking what they put into print. If not guilty of outright slander and libel, the Missouri Republican Party and Barry County Advertiser are guilty of lying to the people of Southwest Missouri and trying to manipulate an election.

I feel that for accuracy's sake if should be pointed out that the ad I've seen was paid for by the MO Senatorial Campaign Committee, not Nolan McNeill.

I am SICK of lies from Candidates
You have a Democratic candidate (Richard Napieralski) running around telling, shouting and printing flat out lives about a a republican Candidate! Richard KNOWS he is spreading lies and his attitude appears to be...."he he he"...
I am a democrat, well for the most part, but I am sick of the democrats trying to run on slamming the other candidates, even if it is lies, and then whining if they get slammed back!
Maybe if we MADE our candidates run respectable campaigns then dems like me wouldn't be crossing party lines to vote for the better man!
Speaking of lies
