Judy Carmack in Liberty, Missouri - Stop this & stop cutting health services for the disabled
Gary Minkin in Wildwood, Missouri - SENATOR JIM TALENT RE: Border Crossings and Illegal Aliens DEAR JIM … In my humble opinion our legislators are going about the business of resolving the border crossing and illegal alien issues all wrong. The problems cannot be addressed piecemeal. What is needed is a well conceived cohesive plan that does not conflict with itself, and resolves all of the issues in a single law that is comprehensive, simple, manageable and easily enforced. The law will reward those who follow the law, and severely penalize those who do not. It will take a strong leader to make this effort a reality. I believe that you, Jim, can make make it work because you are trusted, respected, bright, fair, compassionate, and beyond reproach. Please consider how you can take the initiative to make this a reality, Jim. MY RESPECTS … GARY
Gary Minkin in Wildwood, Missouri - SENATOR JIM TALENT … DEAR JIM … In my humble opinion our government is going about the business of resolving the problems of the border crossings and illegal aliens totally wrong. What is needed is a body of legislators who will identify all of the component parts of the problems, and come up with a comprehensive plan that is simple and manageable, and is easily enforced. Those who follow the law that results from this effort will be rewarded, and those who do not will be severely penalized. Please consider a leadership role in this effort, Jim. People know you to be bright, fair, compassionate and beyond reproach. I believe that you can make a major contribution to the success of the approach that I propose. MY SINCERE REGARDS … GARY MINKIN

Jody Becker in Independence, Missouri
Fred Bost in Statesville, North Carolina - This is a shame that oil Companys take the advantage of people on a fixted income. I hope the day comes where they will have to beg people to buy their products.
Leslie Henry in Kansas City, Missouri
lesley turner in battlefield, Missouri - Mailing address: Lesley Turner P.O. Box 6343 Springfield, MO 65801 Please help those who need it most. That's what I'm concerned about, among other things. Like getting our of Iraq and stop with the excessive tax cuts for the wealthy. Please. Thank you.
Janice Blandin in Kansas City, Missouri
Dana Bailey in Winona, Missouri
tamara beinlich in carl junction, Missouri - I watch c-span I saw you vote NO on sveral amendments pertaining to windfall profits, price gouging profits, and tax breaks on certain oil and natural gas wells. When will you begin to care for the people who elected you and not give everything to big oil corps who pay for your vote!!!!!!! I will keep records of every single weather related death that occurs this winter because they had no heat. Each one will be directly related to your indifference and hate for the poor. And do not tell me you don't hate the poor. Your voting record speaks for its self. SHAME ON YOU!!!!! As a democratic voter I have supported you in the past but no longer.
Donna Lute in O'Fallon, Missouri
Delmar Racherbaumer in Gerald, Missouri
Mary McCarthy in Springfield, Missouri - People are facing hardship, disease and death this winter. Please do the right thing - donate your windfall profits to the needy.
bill cullin in zephyrhills, Florida - I just want to know your military background
Dana Hern in Saint Louis, Missouri
rick ramsay in savannah, Missouri - go cheney yourself
Janet Walker in Rea, Missouri - I am amazed you have no compassion for the elderly. Visit an eldercare facility funded by the State, even stay overnight, please. Bet you couldn't.
Larry Gawatz Sr in St. Joseph, Missouri
Lorri Auer in Columbia, Missouri
Ivana Calhoun in St. Joseph, Missouri - Elderly Missourians are struggling enough as it is. They need help, a lot of help to just survive. They're already being forced with the decision between food or medicine and now high oil costs are going to force them to decide whether to have heat in their homes or food, meds or electricity or even a telephone. Oil companies should be totally ashamed of themselves and should be held accountable and also our legislature too. I can't believe you accepted that kind of money from oil companies for your campaign. Hopefully you'll do the right thing with that money.

William Johnson in Fenton, Missouri
JAMES WATSON in CLARENCE, Missouri - I'm the Mayor of Clarence, Mo. and I know dozens of older citizens, most on fixed incomes, who will not be able to afford heat this winter. PLEASE HELP!!!!
Jackie Hammond in Climax Springs, Missouri
Ruth Ann Johnson in Kansas City, Missouri - Haven't we taken enough from the people in need during the past 5 years?!? Governor Blunt is one of the worst!
rea kleeman in st.louis, Missouri - Please arrange for help for vulnerable citizens to help with their heating bills.
Betty Kowalewich in Kimberling City, Missouri
Linda Baker in Lonedell, Missouri
Maria Evans in Greentop, Missouri - I'm all for capitalism but there should be some regulation against excessive profits when they involve "staples" of American life that have the ability to hurt the poor. America has a long history of intolerance of "profiteering" during wartime and this may be the situation here.
Lisa Loftis in Sacramento, California
catharine Fitch in Phoenix, Arizona - I think the way the Senate & Congress have voted these last 5 years is a DISGRACE We still have no border or homeland security.Bush croynism and incompetent appointees are disgraceful and insulting to the voters. FEMA and Louisiana disaster was handled pitifully my family in Louisian is destitute and desperate. SBLA is so slow in processing paperwork that it is ineffectual And Senators receive 30K bonuses each year(padding their own retirements) plus lobbyist's largess! Come on ...You're in it for yourselves and care not a whit for the constituents!!!!

Robin Starnes in Columbia, Missouri - Dear Senator Talent, Please make the oil companies give back some of their profits!! It is utterly ridiculous that they can be making so much money off of the working class~~~the majority of Missouri voters. The oil companies should be taxed and the money spent on reducing home heating costs this winter. Or better yet, make them reduce the price at the pumps~~~here in Columbia we are still paying 2.29 a gallon!!! Sincerely, Robin Starnes
pamela menefee in belton, Missouri
Jane Ryan in Campbell, Missouri - I have worked as a nurse with the elderly and I have several older friends and family members. I know how hard it is for many of them just to get by. This administration rewards the wealthy and slaps the disadvantaged and those on limited incomes. Cuts in student loans hurt us all, high fuel bills hurt us all, cut Medicade and food stamps and hurt even more people. Stop the tax cuts for the most wealthy among us..help those people who live in your state, not those who stroke your ego and bank account.
Jack Seyler in St. Louis, Missouri - We're watching you Senator. Not pleased so far...
Jenny Stokes in Festus, Missouri
Donnis GRUNDY in SPRINGFIELD, Missouri
Phyllis Johnson in Overland, Missouri
Chere Chaney in Lee's Summit, Missouri - We need help from the Federal government to make sure that the needy and elderly are not left in the cold this winter. This should be a top priority for you Senator Talent. Missouri should lead in this effort.
Nicholas Schilligo in Chicago, Illinois
Sharon Durr in St. Louis, Missouri - Try and get one thing right before you are removed from office in the next election because, believe me, you will be this next time along with all the other crooked politicians that have allowed our country to be run by a right wing zealot.
Glenda Lile in Kansas City, Missouri - You are a worthless piece of shit....That sums it up!
Vickie McCulloch in oak grove, Missouri - You might want to check out the help wanted adds soon!!! HEHEHEHEHE!!! LOSER!!!
David Pulley in Waverly, Missouri - Thats really sad, missourians like me took a chance in 2004 and voted for you and the republican party....the results: we are being sold out to big oil/gas companies...they are getting rich beyond belief, and we can barely make ends meet! OUR KIDS AND ELDERLY HAVE GOT TO FREEZE AND STARVE THIS WINTER, this is the thanks we get? That and lose our medicare and medicaid!!! This winter will be the tell all, and if all goes as is, or gets worst....I and every one I know, life long republicans, WILL BE SWITCHING PARTIES....THATS A PROMISS!!! Later big guy
Kathleen George in St. Louis, County, Missouri - Dear Senator Talent---Retirement is coming up soon for my husband. With the Taxes At the end of the year & now this situation coming on us. We feel a need to write & let U know..Thank You for your time.

Dave DeRossett in Springfield, Missouri - I have not seen so much abuse in government since the Nixon years.
Susan Beaver in Kansas City, Missouri
Linda Tremaine in Columbia, Missouri - Hey Jim, Its time to start fighting for real Missouri values like you keep bragging about in your fundraiser letters. Time to prove you are more than just a rubber stamp repuglican to corporate powers and the GOP.
Rosemary Gress in Kansas City, Kansas - Didn't the oil company make a profit of 10 billion dollars and are they laughing all the way to the bank. What about the people who are on fixed income and no income and the price of natural gas is going up. Where are the jobs to pay for this bill. What the big picture. American are being taken advantage of. I'm on section 8, my unemployment is going to run out at the end of November, 2005. I have been looking for a job and can't seem to get one. Tired of job hunting. Tired of being a number, tired of discrimination. Venezula, and Brazil do not want Pres. Bush over ther. He makes me nervous and fearful that something bad is going to happen to the United States. Another 911???!!! We've already had natural disater, Katrina and Wilma and you want to raise gas prices. Give me a break. Sick and tired of the greed, the self centerness, selishness of big politics and big corporations. Tom Delay went to jail, and who the politican who leak the CIA person, and other person/s involved?? Are they going to jail?? American have had enough and its time to get real about real problems and get real solutions. Give us a break, we are not stupid.

D.Michael White in Joplin, Missouri
Dean Werner in Hillsboro, Missouri
Donald Casey in Brentwood, Missouri - I would think that Big Oil no longer needs subsidies or handouts. If anyone is to receive help it should be alternative fuels and alternative energy sources. The other emphasis should be on conservation. Why is Congress not acting to put conservation into our energy policy in a big way. that alone would take up much of the slack for gasoline and heating oil. Are you people on the hill that ignorant or blind or stupid that you cannot see what the present energy policies are doing this great country of ours?

Wynn Miller in Webster Groves, Missouri - I continue to be appalled by big oil profits. Elmer Nichols in Lees Summit, Missouri - I'am very sorry that you and the rest of the republican party, feel that it's ok to take programs and money away from the poor and middle income Familys.AND GIVE IT TO THE WEATHLIEST AMERICANS. AND you you have given big oil, medical, drugs companys the rights to BREAK THE AMERICAN PEOPLE! YOU GET THE GOLD, THE REST OF US GETS THE SHAFT!
David Rust in Kirbyville, Missouri
Dan Olexa in Independence, Missouri - I accept that capitalism is capitalism and earning money is the purpose, but somewhere along the line we have got to reign in the excessive abuses of the oil industry. Our entire economy hinges on this resource. As "big oil" earns record profits, consumers and other industries are hurt by their greed. It sickens me that nothing is being done to curb our dependence on these leeches.

brad meers in ofallon, Missouri - its clear that oil compaines are gouging us. Exxon mobile made 9.9 billion in the 3rd quarter. This is hurting the ones who pay for everything by taxes and keep the economy going. Its the working class and when we fall all the rich will come tumbling down too. The tax proposal of eliminating mortage deductions for homeowner is crazy! this must not go thru

Now we are being faced with higher fuel costs and Prices at the stores are rising to reflect the high cost of diesel. If the money which we are spending on this war of choice were spent on developing alternative fuels, we would not be in this mess.

COST OF LIVING ON DISABILITY AND MEDICARE DOES NOT MATCH ALL THE OTHER INCREASES. PLEASE DO THE RIGHT THING AND RETURN BIG BUSINESS CAMPAIGN CONTRABUTIONS. SINCERELY, SUZANNE DOHACK
Mrs. Anna Lohman in Affton, Missouri - I would hope you would have grown a back bone by now for you to do the right thing and finally stand up to the BIG OIL. The $162,950, should be given to a charity to help the needy heat their homes this winter, it's not like you need it for your re-election or anything. It's obvious you are not watching out for our best interest, I looked up your voting record and that says it all. Shame on all Elected Officials who showed no compassion or any back bone to stop the corruption in this administration, I pray GOD shows them more compassion than they have shown us!!!!

The new tax scheme being talked about will destroy what is left of our economy. You need to stand up and learn to say "NO" when anyone trys to push pork on to bills and lay the tax burden on the poor. Also, religious beliefs should be left with the individual and not legislated. These issues have caused centuries of war in the middle east and Ireland. Please don't bring this type of problem to our country.

Bonnie Kruger in St. Louis, Missouri - I'm an Independent who believes the Oil Companies need to give us all a break. Their record profits on the backs of the misery ordinary Americans have felt in the wake of one natural disaster after another, is shameful. Their continued greed will only push us all farther to the left.

Kathleen Neff in Marshfield, Missouri - I speak as a citizen -not as a political entity, ally or critic. There is NOTHING as defective as legislation that gives a windfall advantage to those who have refused to make real progress or dragged their feet in solving the problems of energy in crisis.Andadding yet another burden on those who can least handle one is not only amoral but plain foolish if you think they will 'rise to meet the challenge'! These are not people who have the constitutional strength to do so. They do not have money to contribute to campaigns or lobbyists. Too bad for them, huh?! But in the end you will have to find a solution because the numbers of disenfranchised Missourians is going to be far more than a thorn in your side.

Wendy Arnell in Gladstone, Missouri
Kenneth Riott in Springfield, Missouri - Senator Talent; I think we all agree Oil Companies should make a profit just like any other business ,but for them to be reporting record profits while they are ripping off the consumers is unacceptable.I think we are all getting tired of Electing people to represent us in Washington only to have them side with big business/Oil companies when they get there. Send the Oil Companies a message and show Missouri you do care. Do not support drilling in Alaska Artic Refuge either.Do support conservation of fuel/energy and alternate fuels/ energy. This money will buy you some attack ads but actions speak loader then words.
Mark Johnson in Saint Clair, Missouri

Robert McCart in Saint Joseph, Missouri
Steve Maidment in Independence, Missouri - I was shocked to hear of the profits of oil companies (namely Exxon) when everyone was tighting their belts and being good patriots due to hurricanes and the war in Iraq. It's time oil companies practice some patriotism.
Starla Starke in Columbia, Missouri
Rebecca Adamson in Kansas City, Missouri
Sean Slattery in Kansas City, Missouri
Betty Halker in Valley Park, Missouri - Senator Talent: Show Missouri that you are a stand up person and give the money back to it's needy citizens. While you are living in a comfortable, well-heated home, being driven around in a govenment owned vehicle, the rest of us are looking for ways to cut down on driving and turning down thermostats. How about showing some compassion?
Jeff Bosworth in Wright City, Missouri
Mary Brown in St Louis , Missouri - We are in need of relief of those high gas profits
raymond bucher in 501 n broadway, Missouri - It's appalling that the big oil companies have been allowed to obtain hugh profits at the expense of the little man. Why not tax these companies more and less for the average american? I am a father of 2, one in college and one soon to be in highschool, I work 80 to 90 hours a week just to make ends meet and everytime I hear these oil companies ( and I'm sure the president and vice-president and all the others in their party)making these hugh profits it sickens me. I tell you now Mr Talent you will not receive my vote nor my wife's.
Valerie Brennan in St. Louis, Missouri - Also: Drilling for oil up in the Alaskan Wild Life Preserve is not the answer. We already have known oil sources located throughout the continental usa ready to go; what we need are refineries. What we need is for that big profit margin to be spent on securing good sights and getting them built, using the power and wealth to alleviate the problem. But it seems if that were done than all the biggies couldn't make so much money. Grow up and stand up for righteousness, Clinton did. He may have sinned in the eyes of his maker but we were all fat cats during his presidency, and gas was .99 cents a gallon.
Beverly Stowers in Hazelwood, Missouri
Genise Nappier in St. Louis, Missouri
Sharen Lowney in Affton, Missouri - You need to stand up to big oil in more ways than just this. You need to tell them to lower oil prices! They can afford it...they hit record profits this year by gouging us at the gas pump. So, they are hitting us twice...at the gas pump and in our heating bills.
Joan Kernan in Rock Hill, Missouri
Nanacy White in St. James, Missouri
Joan Kernan in Rock Hill, Missouri - I request you do not vote for passage of this unreasonable bill. Your acceptance of a large sum of money will guarantee you a reputation as a self-seeker with no concern for his constituents. Vote for it and I promise I will work diligently to assure you are not re-elected - regardless of how much money you get from the radical right.

Rosemarie Woods in Kansas City, Missouri - I am a homeowner who has not had full time employemnt in over one year. I hold a Masters degree in Theatre History and Criticism from UMKC and have been seeking full time employment in education. My savings has dwindled due to my employment status and my bills, particularly since I have gas heat, gas heated water and a gas stove in a house which was built in 1914. What's wrong with this picture?
Arlene Lane in Joplin, Missouri
Dana Delibovi in Lake St. Louis, Missouri
John Mayfield in Independence, Missouri
Mitchell Lee in Webster Groves, Missouri - Without a realistic and non-petroleum based energy policy, our country remains under the despotic opression of the big oil companies and OPEC. Until we get a grasp on our dependence on these companies and these countries and their products, we will continue on a downward spiral. It may be in the short term interests of many related to big oil to continue the current, failing policies which hurt our economy and threaten our environment, but years later, our generation will be cursed by our children's children for not taking action to curb our dependence on oil. When we weren't looking, our country went up for sail to the Middle East and to China, and all to line the pockets of the already wealthy and powerful.
Evelyn Cohen in St. Louis, Missouri
Shirley Crenshaw in University City, Missouri
Doug Kluck in Kansas City, Missouri - You can do much better than you are doing Senator. We also don't need to drill for insignificant oil in Alaska either. It is a drop in the bucket. Instead focus our national attention and funds on solar power and other renewable non-polluting energies. Thanks.

Carol Peterson in Kansas City, Missouri - While the citizens of the United States continue to make sacrifices to help our soldiers, Katrina victims, earth quake victims, and Florida huricane victims the Big Oil Companies make zero sacrifices but rather rake in the largest profits in years!!! Please stand up for the citizens of Missouri and make the Big Oil companies give back money so people will be able to heat their homes. Stand up and do the right thing.
Pam Jeffries in webster groves, Missouri - Big Oil Companies are not the only corporations setting profit records, while the economy as a whole lags, and citizens lack healthcare. Stand up for the right side of the team. The working people, not just the stockholders, deserve to be compensated for their investments.
Michael Hembrough in Neosho, Missouri - I vote. Everyone in my family votes and we will be watching.

Sandy Schneider in Bridgeton, Missouri - Everything is going up - food, gasoline, property taxes and the middle class is being squeezed. Shame on you in Washington - what are you going to do when we go belly up and you have no one else to tax? Are you going to tax each other. You get wondeerful health care, big raises and all kinds of perks. We don't have decent health care, but you do. Aren't you ashamed - riding on the backs of the middle class?
Eric Hasselbach in Saint Louis, Missouri
Terry Pitt in Kansas City, Missouri - Missourians put you in the House. In return, I have seen scant little. While oil companies have posted historic record profits from historically high prices, you have voted to give them tax breaks in, what appears to be, trade for their financial contribtions to your campaign fund. I hope the people who put you in office can count on you to look out for their and their families well-being this winter when heating prices skyrocket to astronomical heights.

William Bordfeld in Saint Louis, Missouri
Victoria Lovejoy in Springfield, Missouri - Frankly, I do not expect Senator Talent to listen to me. I tried writing him about my concern about child molesters and a bill that was circulating in Congress and instead of listening or supporting the bill in Congress, he bragged about something he did in 2004. Do you really think he will listen to any letters from this website? He does not care about half of the constituents in his state.
James Hall in Kansas City, Missouri - I was a republican and so were much of my immediate family. Although that has changed we are not democrats. We have become so frustrated with the republican party. I shall not get into details as it would take to long and anyway nobody would give me any answers anyway. WE NEED TO GET OUR TROOPS HOME AND TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS HERE IN THE USA. THE REPUBLICAN PARTY IS SO SCREWED UP RIGHT NOW ALL A BUNCH OF THIEFS. But for those few who live on such meager margins that such increases are catastrophic, we should do what we can to assure they survive the winter in comfort. Thanks for your consideration.
James Lang in Oak Grove, Missouri

Ronald Woolsey in Buffalo, Missouri
Kenneth Stein in Creve Coeur, Missouri - Is it true that the rich get richer? And at whose expense does this happen? The voters of Missouri will all be paying higher heating bills for fuel that still cost the oil companies the same to produce and market. How many of the poor will be in cold while you take money from the oil and gas companies? Shame!

dale hutchinson in tuscumbia, Missouri
Staci McBride in St. Louis, Missouri

William Rosen in Kansas City, Missouri
Jeff Wathen in Lawson, Missouri
Karla Trammell in Springfield,, Missouri - Big oil companies should not profit from the devastation of the recent hurricanes. It is time that you use the power the voters have instilled in you to stand up to those interests and tell them enough is enough. The American public has been gouged enough; high heating costs could drive many into bankruptcy. No one wins when that happens.
Jessica Yeager in Kansas City, Missouri
Howard Ross in Columbia, Missouri
Don Conway-Long in Webster Groves, Missouri
rea kleeman in St. Louis, Missouri - Please give the money you got from big oil to a charity or to Laclede gas to help vulnerable people pay their heating bills.
Loraine Grether in POB 157 19385 E. Rt 32, Missouri - How meek you sounded when you wanted to be elected. Now it's how greedy you are when you have been elected. Do the right thing and donate the money to help prevent some of the Missourians from freezing to death this winter. Thank you.
Karen Schindler in St. Louis, Missouri
Rebecca Webb in Kansas City, Missouri - Please do everything in your power to represent alternative fuel sources!!!!! SHAME on us for being so dependent on oil. We know better and demand our representatives stop meeting the demands of those big money oil boys. It is time to represent us......THE PEOPLE. We are sick and tired of being lied to and made to pay our hard earned dollars to a government that is not working for us!!!!!! I have been getting after the news media too for not reporting the TRUTH. Always we have had transparantcy in our government but the Bush administration has taken us into socialism. It is important to have greater independent ownership of our news sources and to protect our journalists from jail time when they refuse to reveal their sources. Can you IMAGINE what would have happened if we had jailed Woodward and Bernstein? Go to work for us: THE PEOPLE. Thank you. Rebecca Webb
Myra Colbert in Gladstone, Missouri - Please act on this. We're already hit with huge gasoline prices with oil companies setting record profits. Please do not allow the natural gas companies to do the same thing to us. Thankyou for your time and consideration in this matter.

william martin in springfield, Missouri - this really would show your commitment to the poor of Missouri thank you William Martin

steve seibold in Jefferson City, Missouri
Stephen Losh in Springfield, Missouri
Eric Urruela in Florrisant, Missouri - Mr Talent,Our elected officals, like you, have lost the pulse of the people. Our roads get treated better than human beings. My son is in Irag fighting a war that cost 2 billion a week. Our education, which I volunteer in teaching, are suffering from your support of no child left behind. Now oil companies are gutting our economic growth. Our government can fudge all the numbers they present to us. But Im one american that is not fooled by the half truth we hear from our government.I Love this country and I support its constitution. But I dont support what all of you have done for this country in the name of your political Party. Its hurts me to see all the people falling through the cracks. People should not go hungry in this country. They are and you guys need to step out of your glass house. So do the right thing Senator, if you got the guts. Or just keep on being blind and follow your party. One thing I can say none of you will ever be Abraham Lincoln. I would believe him.
Sarah Coffman in St. Louis, Missouri - As a social worker at the main children's hospital in St. Louis, I have a plethora of families who can not afford to heat their homes this winter. The community organizations that usually help families with utility bills are out of funds, and I have serious concerns about the health and survival of these medically complicated children this winter. If there is anything you can do to help, please act!
Steven Reschly in Kirksville, Missouri - No more pay for play in politics.

I feel for the people who were hit by Katrina, especially since I lived there for 15 years and still can't find some of my friends who had lived there, and I know this is one of the excuses used for the hike but this is unconscionable; and even you can't condone this travesty.

joe green in villa ridge , Missouri - This is wrong!! I was a moderate but I will do all I can now to see to it that every one I can influence to vote Democratic I WILL

Brooke Daly in Creve Coeur, Missouri
John Kopp in Liberty, Missouri

Kathleen McDowell in Kansas City, Missouri - Business interest is not always the public interest. Those who govern must take the public good into consideration above all things. You may argue that record profits for companies improves the economy which in turn positively affects consumers. However, these indirect benefits are a long time in coming and they are greatly outweighed by the negative affects of outrageous price inflation. This is beyond common sense and it is time to rethink your allegience to companies who put profit above all things to an absurd degree. They can't continue to get away with saying they are raising prices becuase of supply hardships but then reported such awesome profits. It defies logic.
Robert Jameson in Kansas City, Missouri - I know that, as a Republican you are beholden to big oil and the crearly corrupt Bush administration, nevertheless, I hope that you have a shred of human decency left in you to not accept the obscene profits of oil company at the expense of we, the people who elected you. Show us that conservatives can be compassionate and give the windfall profits the oil companies have used to buy your vote to the poor people of your state that that they may be warm this winter.
