Dear Friend,
As many of you know, there is an upcoming special election for State Representative on Tuesday Nov. 8 to fill the seat left vacant by the untimely death of our friend, Richard Byrd. I am deeply concerned about who will replace Richard and whether his solid mainstream, conservative values will continue to be represented for the 94th district in Jefferson City.
I am in the unique position of being familiar with both candidates. I had the opportunity to serve five of my twelve years on the Kirkwood School Board with Democratic candidate, Jane Bogetto. She and I disagreed on a number of critical issues facing the school district. In short, I am a conservative and she is a liberal. Her liberal philosophy has earned her the endorsement of some of the most radical and far-left groups in the country.
The attached sheet will fully explain who her supporters are. Most of them have contributed money and volunteered for her campaign. The numerous pro-abortion, homosexual advocacy, anti-war and liberal teacher organizations are helping her because she agrees with their positions and philosophies and has stated so publicly. These ultra- liberal groups clearly do not represent the majority of people in this district.
Richard's wife, Moira, worked closely with him to bring common-sense answers to the many challenges we face in this community. She wants to continue the good work of Richard, promoting the mainstream conservative values that we want in Jefferson City.
I urge you to remember to vote for Moira Byrd on November 8.
Thank you,
Rick Stream
