DNC Takes On Roy Blunt For His Role In The Abramoff Scandal

On Friday, the DNC issued a strongly worded press release taking on Majority Leader Roy Blunt (R-K Street) for his role in the Abramoff pay-to-play scandal.

Here's the statement by DNC spokesperson Amaya Smith:

"It is deeply troubling that Representative Blunt has dragged Missouri into the same culture of corruption that Congressional Republicans brought to Washington. By engaging in one of the worst pay-to-play scandals in decades, Rep. Blunt turned his back on the values and priorities of the people of Missouri.

"Missourians deserve better. That is why Democrats are committed to promoting honesty and ethics in government. The American people deserve a government as good as them, and Missourians deserve leaders who represent their values and interests in Washington. Since, Representative Blunt clearly is not interested in providing that leadership, Democrats will."
