In one of those "oh, by the way" kind of stories, the associated press revealed today [1] that the office of the President and Vice President appear to have violated the Presidential Records Act by deleting e-mails during the period of the Valerie Plame leak. Apparently, the President does have the authority to conduct warantless searches and wiretaps (bet we've got all that information perfectly archived), but he doesn't have to worry about things like keeping track of official records that Congress expressly reserved as property of we the taxpayers. What have we come to?
