Steelman Has New Website "Under Construction"; Is Governors Race in Future?

Sarah Steelman has quietly begun construction of a new website.

No word on whether this is the opening shot in a campaign to unseat Matt Blunt.

Hedging Bets

Although the MO GOP is not all that pumped about Blunt right now, I highly doubt Steelman could win a primary without some help. The only way she can win is if she gets the help of Democratic voters in the primary.

So here's my question: Will Dems hedge their bets in the primary in 2008 if Nixon runs unopposed, by voting in the Republican rather than the Democratic primary?

It's an interesting conundrum...for as bad as Blunt's poll numbers are, Missouri has changed in the last decade to become a reliably Republican state. I'm not sure if Jay would have a better chance against Blunt or Steelman.

He'd have the ABB (Anybody But Blunt) thing going on against the Boy Governor; and he'd have a name recognition advantage against Steelman.

This isn't to say that Jay wouldn't create his own support outside his natural constituency (unlike Kerry, who might just have been the worst presidential nominee in modern American history....he's challenged by W in 2000, Dole, and Dukakis....but W shouldn't really make the list because he actually won.)

Alright, enough rambling.

Does anyone think Dems will show up to vote for Steelman in the '08 Republican primary?
