Klumb, 37, has spent most of his professional life serving the public. After working for Governor Carnahan, Klumb was elected to the House of Representatives in 1992. At 24, he became one of the youngest members ever to serve in the Missouri legislature. As a State Representative, Klumb served on the Ways & Means Committee, the Appropriations Committee for General Administration, and as Vice-Chair of the Commerce Committee. He championed legislation to expand voter participation, to improve education for Missouri’s children, and to provide affordable health care.

Klumb is a Captain in the Missouri National Guard JAG (Judge Advocate General) Corps and was an Assistant Attorney General in Kansas City. He recently began working at a private law firm.
Klumb graduated from William Jewell College, the University of Missouri School of Law, and received a Masters Degree from the London School of Economics. He has been married seven years to Begonya Klumb. They have a daughter, Sofia, born last year in Kansas City.
In 2004, Klumb ran for Missouri State Treasurer, raising more money than any other Democrat, and securing the endorsement of every major newspaper in Missouri, including the Kansas City Star and the St. Louis Post Dispatch. Despite over 200,000 votes, he lost a crowded primary election.

Former State Rep. Jason Klumb announced today that he will run for the 10th District State Senate seat being vacated by Senator Charlie Wheeler.
