Last August, Fired Up! revealed Rep. Roy Blunt's ties to a shadowy defense contractor, Brent Wilkes, [1] who is caught up in the Rep. Duke Cunningham scandal. Wilkes has flown Blunt around on his Learjet.  Blunt has also taken $12,000 in contributions from Wilkes and Wilkes-related entities.

As it turns out, Wilkes is now under investigation for providing a whole different set of services to Members of Congress. Federal prosecutors now believe that in addition to jets, Wilkes provided congressmen with prostitutes. [2]

And while these defense contractors paid bribes and committed other outrageous acts of public corruption, Senator Jim Talent sat silently on his perch at the Senate Armed Services Committee and never even looked into defense contractor fraud and abuses. Shame on him.

Blunt has previously refused to return campaign contributions [3] from Wade and Wilkes, the central players in the Cunningham scandal.
